Off the Radar: What we can’t afford to discuss

Wars and conflicts International USA
As time goes by, in the natural order of things, the public quickly forgets about the last big story as new ones come along. That’s just human nature.
But human nature can be irresponsible. Case in point, the violations by the U.S. of many Geneva accords.
1. When we invaded Iraq we bombed water and sewage systems, oil piplelines (albeit by mistake in that case),schools, hospitals, libraries, and electic facilities. We also bombed "accidentally" many religious institutions including mosques and even attacked al Jazeera’s offices (again,by "mistake")
2. We all know about the torture so I won’t pursue that further here.
3. We utilized cluster bombs, white phosphorus and depleted uranium shells.
All of these violations were not only violations of Geneva, but of UN laws as well.
The reasons we don’t hear this discussed in the mainstream media are multifold, but the key is money. Quite frankly the bottom line here is that IF the U.S.acknowleged that depleted uranium, for example,is illegal and costs 10s of 1000s of lives each year (not to mention still births and maiming)...IF we did that then we’d open ourselves to thousands of lawsuits which could easily bankrupt our entire country.
So. We just shut up. And our friends in the media, by mutual consent, cooperate fully. After all, money is always more important than a few hundred thousand lives of some people in a far off 3rd world country. Right?
On top of this are the thousands of GIs who come home regularly with "strange and mysterious" symptoms which are...according to military doctors..undiagnosable.
Sure. That will do it. Can’t risk the chance of labeling their illnesses, can we? Remember the Hell which resulted with Agent Orange. Can’t have that again.
Can’t. And won’t.

Make sure the lawsuits are against the Bush family, Rice, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc. directly. Hit the bastards where it will hurt them most: their bank accounts. And make sure that they know that trying to hide their assets will only lead to a prolonged stay in Abu Graib, with Iraqi guards and interogators, until they reveal where it is all hidden.

And today Congress approves the revised Patriot Act, when all polls showed that the people were against the Patriot Act, which is in violation of the constitution. Congress is well aware of this violation and except for 10 Congressman, voted in favor of the violation. Another unlawful act initiated against the will of the people who they are there to represent. They must all be voted out of office.
