Germany’s Green Party is setting up a branch in the United States. The bottom-up initiative aims to bring a more international perspective to the party’s work and combat anti-Americanism among some members back home.
The chapter is due to be officially founded next weekend in Washington DC. It hopes to tap into the experiences of the growing number of Germans working in the US capital in international organizations, foundations and think tanks, as well as in the media, the (…)

Mrs. Kern:
I’ve just listened to the 20-minute interview you had with Oklahoma City’s TV-9 in regard to the public speech you made sometime after the first of the year deriding and demeaning Oklahoma’s gay/lesbian taxpaying citizens.
You were NOT secretly recorded as you claim; you saw the recording device. Why must you always play the victim when your homophobic schemes are made public?

The Man Nobody Wanted
5 March 2008 par (Open-Publishing)
By David Glenn Cox
There is something strange going on in the political landscape of America. Something both parties see as a threat to national security, well to their national security at least. The candidates of both major political parties strike terror into the hearts of both political parties’ leadership for the same reason, and for opposite reasons. Last year it was a foregone conclusion that the Democratic nominee would be Hillary Clinton, no one doubted it for one minute, she (…) -
Peace Candidates Step Forward to Challenge Bush Enablers
17 February 2008 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsThis week an exciting new candidate has come forward to challenge Nancy Pelosi in her San Francisco district where the voters are being ignored by the Speaker of the House. Citizens around the nation are pledging time and sending donations to Shirley Golub in an effort to show Nancy Pelosi that we have had enough. She has failed to uphold the Constitution and appears to be protecting Bush from his crimes, not defending our Constitution and holding him accountable to the law.
Shirley Golub (…) -
Republicans Walk Out, Americans Pray They Won’t Return
15 February 2008 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsRepublican lawmakers in Washington, DC, did today what voters and citizens across the country have been trying to do for the better part of the last 8 years: they removed themselves from the House chamber of the Capitol.
Following an impassioned speech decrying "political grandstanding" by minority leader John Boehner, Republican members of the House of Representatives walked out of congress and onto the steps of the Capitol in a move oddly similar to "political grandstanding."

THE FIGHTER PILOT AND THE PRINCESS IN AMERICA’S PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES
John Chuckman
The fighter pilot of this story is, of course, John McCain, but the princess is not Hillary Clinton as some readers might have guessed. The princess in the story is Britain’s late Princess Diana. What possible connection is there between the late Princess Diana and John McCain? Well, as it proves, there are connections of serious importance to American voters and citizens of the (…) -

The Decline and Fall of the Liberal Media
20 December 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
Last night PBS aired "An Unreasonable Man" — a brilliant documentary about Ralph Nader, the man responsible for seat belts, air bags, food labeling and safety, and a host of other humanist causes. Over time, however, America grew tired of this tireless advocate. His efforts to contain corporate power is a trajectory of liberal causes that sadly, ultimately fell on deaf ears. By the time he ran for President in 2000, the electorate — thanks to Bill Clinton and others — had turned not moderate (…)

Appeal of Solidarity With The People, The Government, The Communist And Progressive Forces of Bolivia
The political process in Bolivia faces a critical moment.
The reactionary forces, the oligarchy, the US government and some European forces promote a large scale campaign aiming to reverse the progressive processes in this Latin American country.
The goal of all these forces is to block the changes promoted by the Constitutional Assembly for a democratic Constitution for the benefit (…)
