Proposal: Nationwide Townhall Meetings with Congress Members Saturday, Aug 6th (2pm EST)

We all know that Bush & Co Lied to start this war, that the nation would be outraged if not for the $$ media. Still, we know that nothing else matters- Bush shouldn’t be appointing judges or ambassadors, he should be in behind bars.

We need to ask each and every one of our CongressCritters why they are not outraged by the revelations of the Downing Street Memo, by the looting of our tax dollars by Halliburton- why did the House investigate steroids but ignore the $9 Billion ’lost’ by Bremer?

How about this Saturday, August 6th, the Anniversary of the first Memo (titled: Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside US) we hold town hall meetings in 435 High School Gymnasiums. We have the Critter sit on a stool in the middle, lights dimmed, spotlight on... and we ask a few questions.

This should be easy enough to arrange, High School Gyms can be used for public purposes... Why can’t this happen, the House is on summer break while troops are still dying- all for a lie. I think the least they could do is give us a few hours of their time, nationwide- all at the same time- 2pm EST Saturday afternoon 435 townhall meetings begin... it could be a really huge and exciting event, covered by C-span etc... (folks at DU, try to get this idea past the Mods, and you guys at Kos too ; -)

Why don’t we the people make an appointment with our CongressCritters- this Saturday, Nationwide Townhall meetings- there’s no reason not to do it, and *every* reason to do it. Just - Do - It!

And for those that say, what about Conyers letter, and Barbara Lee’s Res. of Inquiry... My question to them is why have they waited so long, why didn’t they push the Resolution of Inquiry the day after the June 16th hearings... why wait- now giving Bush & Co til Sept. 16th to wiggle out of it- Why dammit?! Kids are still dying every damn day, and now you’re on vacation! What if the next attack happens... then he’ll be off the hook again, won’t he? Unless We hold *every* CongressCritter accountable!
