Demos-Actions Movement International South/Latin America

To demonstrate solidarity with Brazilian homeless people threatened by expulsion in Curitiba(Parana State) and Sao Paulo, associations from the international network "No-vox" in France, Japan and Portugal have organized a peaceful demonstration yesterday (15 of June)with the MNLM organization (Movimento nacional de luta pela moradia), and the MSTC (Moviemento dos sin tetos do centro) organization.

Delegations have been received by Brazilian embassies. In Tokyo, the Japanese police force repress brutally the gathering and arrest a demonstrator, member of the No-vox movement. We protest against this arbitrary arrest, require its release and request the stop of any legal prosecution.

We also ask the end of police repression against homeless in Japan, they are victims of police harassing, forced internment, and shelters demolition, built in parks, without a proposal of rehousing or lodging.

In Paris hundred of demonstrators gathered near by the Embassy, approximately 200 police officers prohibited the access to the front of the Embassy. The demand of the delegation received in the embassy will be transmitted to the human right section of the foreign ministry and then to the housing ministry and home office.
The embassy declare not being responsible for the policy deployment.
