There is a clear difference between supporting our troops and supporting President Bush’s illegal war in Iraq.
Supporting the troops means fully funding the VA, which cares for those injured. It means lifting the stop-loss action that forces soldiers to remain in the military against their will.
Supporting the troops means knowing the truth that there never was a link between the 9-11 terrorist attacks and Iraq. It means appointing an independent council to investigate the lies that preceded the invasion and insisting that President Bush and his administration answer, under oath, questions raised by the Downing Street memos which show his intent to invade and to "fix" intelligence to justify his action. It means demanding that Congress abide by Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution and return authority to declare war to the legislative branch as the founders intended.
Supporting our troops today means opposing Bush’s misuse of them in Iraq. It means insisting that Congress pass a resolution stating that the U.S. will withdraw all military troops and bases from Iraq, and that the Iraqi people have a right to true national sovereignty. Our continued military presence is inciting violence against us and against Iraqis working with us, as well as drawing foreign fighters into Iraq to fight Americans.
We must bring the troops home immediately, demand public hearings to determine the truth leading up to the Iraq war, and pay the cost of our destruction to the Iraqi people so they can begin to heal and rebuild their own country.
For those who believe that supporting the troops does mean supporting this war, the president needs you to enlist today. To all who are refusing to enlist, your action is the most effective protest possible against the Iraq war.

How nice of you to [as many have before you] to decouple supporting the troops versus the war, and so on.
Only in the White American mind can this occur with such clarity.
Something for you to consider is that many, many of the troops support the war as do many civilians. "Support the troops" is a catch all phrase with hold no meaning. Even lacking such "support", the troops will kill; thus, if you "support" the troops they you are "supporting" the killing.
It like caring for a dog; no more no less.
Unless, you are a White American. Then you get into these fantastic splitting of hairs of "supporting" the troups but not what are made for, "killing".

How does supporting the troops (bringing them back to the US) translate into "supporting the killing"? If you want them here, you do not support them killing, nor do you support them being killed. So one neither has to be white nor American to understand "Bring Our Troops Home Now" is not an oxymoron. And lighten up...the problem is BUSH’S white America, not simply white America.

To White Americans, "Supporting the trooops" means supporting them as they conduct their duty [that is, fightiing in Iraq].
It does not mean bringing them home.
The limited number of non-White Americans I know are simply not as aggressive towards Arabs and Muslims — But all of the White Americans I encounter are.

This is an illegal war. We have new information that Bush and Blair ’fixed the facts’ ie made up ’intelligence’ to scare the American people into accepting a war of aggression. Now that we know the truth, not one more soldier should go to Iraq....

....and it is the patriotic duty of the rest of us to do everything we can to hold this administration responsible for the mass killing of Iraqis and US soldiers, not to mention the looting of Iraqi resources and US tax dollars. We must do everything we can to stop the killing now...then hold the twisted minds who created these killing fields accountable because that is the only way to stop them in the future. When Cheney is in jail, all funds of Halliburton will be used to pay reparations. All the TV networks should also have their licenses removed and stations sold to the highest bidder. This money will go to pay back the US taxpayers.

OK, wheres the trumped up "facts" you speak of?
"Support the war? Then enlist"
Bet you like that idea
"Stop the war? Go to Bagdad and be a human shield"
Bet you don’t like that idea

United we stand means: united we cover our war crime. Americans you know pretty well that it is you who committ murder, torture and theft.
But keep on to tell you that - for us it is entertaining - for the majority of Iraqi civilians it is deadly!

Wait a minute...I’m confused....was the US in Iraq on 9/10/2001.
Oh, I guess not. I suppose our presence in Iraq didn’t cause these animals to kill 4,000 people after all.
