Talk is cheap- Is Nancy Pelosi doing her job?

In these trying times in our country, after so many absurdities and lies, many are now willing to speak out and complain about President Bush. Bush, however, would not have been able to commit any of these atrocities without the complicity of congress. It is bad enough that many in Washington DC did not take the time to read the intelligence(or lack there of) before the war, they have taken no steps to hold this administration accountable for their lies. Nancy Pelosi has supposedly been leading the democrats in the house of representatives, but she has taken no steps to provide the much needed checks and balances. It is not enough to just point the finger, it is the responsibility of congress to take action.

We come to the point where Nancy Pelosi is claiming that if we just elect John Kerry, everything will be better. How can anyone assume that John Kerry will hold this administration accountable, when he seems unable to currently? If John Kerry had done his job in the past, the Bush crime family would not be in the position to ruin our country this way. (see "John Kerry & Bush Cabal’s Iran-Contra Conspiracy: Kerry/Bush a cover-up team for 20 yrs" http://bellaciao.org/en/article.php3?id_article=3234)

In Nancy Pelosi’s recent radio address she stated "The President must be held accountable for this war. This diversion has cost more than 1,000 of our soldier’s lives, thousands more injured for life, and hundreds of billions of dollars. This war has been a grotesque mistake that has diminished our reputation in the world and has not made America safer." I am happy that Nancy Pelosi is willing to stand up and speak about what has been blatantly obvious to the American people, but isn’t it her job to do something about it?

We have heard time and time again that the house does not have the votes to impeach, but at this pivotal time in history shouldn’t we rise above partisanship to fight for our country and the ideals of our forefathers? The house leadership should at the very least push for accountability so the American people have a chance to see who is and isn’t doing their job.

  • In response, the Democratic leader in the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi of California, said Bush must be "held accountable" for this Iraq war.

    We’re waiting Nancy........

    • Nancy Pelosi represents my district here in San Francisco, California. I’m writing in Green Party candidate Terry Baum on November 2nd. http://www.terrybaum.com/ Too bad the City has disenfranchised many by refusing to place her name on the ballot eventhough she had enough votes in the primary election to do so.

  • Kucinich has called for hearings on iraq intelligence before the election

  • This is not to defame your character, only your intellect, which is stunted. The intelligence, which was available to all and embraced by all, at the time, suggested that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and was seeking more of the same. I see by your note of caution that not only do you erase messages of dissent, you act to show that dissent does not even exist.

    • Yes it is true that everyone saw the same intelligence reports which were manufactured by this corrupt administration...when they cooked the intelligence reports they knew that most would go along...which they did, and when it was discovered that the intelligence reports were "wrong" they all blamed it on the messengers.....I can not understand how the Kerry/Edwards team has allowed this to not be the focus of their debate. Daddy Bush is a CIA man (like the maffia you are a member for life) and with the aid of his old cronies they cherry picked the bits and pieces and used known false and forged documents some having been discredited as much as 10 years before they were cited as factual (the yellow cake from Neiger document was stamped a false forgery 2 years before Bush cited it in his State of the Union address) knowing full well it was just not true. The cover-up persists today by placing the blame on the CIA (the director agreed to step down) big wow, and the instigaters are claming they have solved the problem with the CIA, they threw one expendable stooge to the wolves and can get back to business as usual. The senate and congress members all know what went on but they are willing to pretend that getting rid of Muller is somehow changing the corruption (Porter Goss is a crook and there is lots of evidence to this) but the agency really needs to be abolished it is a rouge government in itself that controls this country. This all came out during the Iran Contra hearings when Oliver North esentially testified that the CIA was selling drugs to support an illegal war in So. America, but nothing was done back then, and nothing will be done now even though what they are doing now is far worse then what they tried to do then and didn’t get away with it. This time we have murdered innocent people, just like in Vietnam, a genocide is taking place and America is once again exposed as the criminal country. So lets all support our PRAVDA and pretend that we don’t know the truth it is so much easier not to make waves just ask CBS.
