WAR
Bush and the Congress call it a war, don’t they?...but in war aren’t we supposed to be fighting a uniformed foe? The only uniforms I see in Iraq are Police and Security Forces, and "most" of the time we don’t fight them, even if they do take the occasional pot shot at us when we’re not looking, and/or spill the beans to various opposition forces about US positions and plans.
Just who ARE we fighting? What are "Insurgents"?, rag-tag, barefooted teens with Kalichnikovs?, angry young boys swearing revenge on the occupiers?, al Qaeda in Iraq?, Jordanians, Hezbollah?, Saudi extremists? Upset Baathist retired soldiers?, al Sadr militiamen?..who the Hell knows? To US troops one "raghead" (their term, not mine!) looks the same as the next. We used to say that about Native Americans at one time, and about blacks not so awfully long ago. Many of us still do.
So the "new" US military, hailed constantly by the various brass and homebased TV pundits as "The finest in the World", are stuck in Iraq for no good reason except that they’ve got to protect American "interests"...and we all know that means money. Oil, natural gas, minerals, whatever.
WAR
It can only be about profit. Why else would our noble president and wise leader insist that we see it through to the bitter end?
Why indeed.

History does show us the last time that America realesed all its might was WW2, air ,land and sea where heavily involved, industry was transformed into a war effort, everything on the domestic side was put on the back burner, it was by far a total team effort winner take all. Why have we stubbed are toes in Korea, Nam, the Cuban crisis and now Iraq, because it was never the plan to win, all of these conflicts had an alternate agenda, it all made for fine window dressing in the eyes of people and goverments world wide but is nothing more then a smokescreen. The agenda in Nam to drive a wedge in Indochina guess what thats still working.
Korea I am not clear on but once China jumped in a line was drawn, but that line was already there from the start so everyone shrugged and went home, I take it mission was accomplished or the goal met.
Castro and the missle crisis is classic, do you think if he was ever a danger and just a stone throw away from Florida he would have been allowed to exsist? as long as Latin America had one communist on a chunk of land no bigger then a stamp there wasnt a problem, and while we focused on Cuba other communists in the region where eradicated mission again accomplished.
Here we are in Iraq, not even flexing are muscles or unleashing nothing close to what we are capable of. Why ? Because again the object is not to win , again we have a hidden agenda, w can argue what that is, greed, squash a dictator, weapons of mass deception, maybee all. My opinion it was a fullback run up the middle, nothing bashful get everyones attention, but we all know to throw the long ball you first must sell the run. We have accomplished secterian troubles a causulty or a well thought out plan?
Is Iraq just a end around play to sack Iran?
Ten years from now it will all be clear.
WE can laugh and point fingers and shake are heads because of the mess we are in, but maybee its us that is being laughed at, because the real agenda is going as planned behind yet another smokescreen.
