US Soldier Deaths have more than Doubled over 2004

In the first two months of 2005 US casualties in Iraq have more than doubled over the first two months of 2004.
If this pattern continues, more than 100 US troops will die next month, and more than 200 will die in April.
The Question of the Day is:
Why does the United States continue to send young Americans and billions of dollars to Iraq?
Are US soldiers really ’spreading freedom’ ... or is this about oil and strategic positioning via the 14 ’enduring bases’ the US is building in Iraq?
Do the people of Iraq want US troops to stay? According to a recent Zogby poll- No:
"Sunni Arabs (82%) and Shiites (69%)
Favor U.S. forces withdrawing either immediately or after
an elected government is in place."
Why do they want us out? Most Iraqis have not been enjoying the occupation- no electricity, no clean water, no jobs- but yes on torture, food shortages, sewage in the streets, and $4.5 billion Iraqi oil money ’lost’.
Bush says we must remain in Iraq, "because our own Freedom is enhanced by the expansion of freedom in other nations I set out the long term goal of ending tyranny in our world... This will require the commitment of generations."
Robert Fisk a journalist with decades of Middle East experience, says that Iraq is Lost:
"The American project for democracy [in Iraq] is finished. It is hopeless it cannot succeed. The insurgency in Iraq is so great now that American troops, however enormous their technology, cannot control it.... Perhaps through their own misjudgment, or their own fantasies, [Bush and Blair] don’t even accept this themselves."
Only one of these men is telling the truth.
Bush vs Fisk mp3 including above quotes
(Bush’s long ’thoughtful’ pauses at the end of this mp3 are real- no pauses were inserted.)
Republican Senator Lindsay Graham just returned from Iraq:
"The Iraqi people are more empowered, but the security situation is worse. We had a lot less freedom to move around. In many ways, in terms of security, it is not better off at all."
"We’re still in Germany and South Korea 50 years later... I see no reason it will not take years in Afghanistan and Iraq."
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Richard Myers says that 7 to 12 years is the average length of an occupation.
Are you interested in sending 50-100 young Americans to die every month for the next decade? Will you send your children?

Two years after Bush kicked the inspectors out,
this is the Iraqi situation today:
– Twice as many soldiers have been killed this year compared to last. The situation is deteriorating rapidly and there is no end in sight as Bush refuses to set a withdrawal date.
– The Iraqi people want our troops to leave, but we say, "too bad, you’re not ready" and continue building 14 ’enduring bases’.
– All of the reasons for war are gone- there were no weapons, evil Saddam is gone, and now the Iraqis have had an election.
The ’imminent threat’ is gone but surprise, surprise- there are two new reasons why we must stay:
– ’To protect the Iraqis from civil war’... and if that doesn’t work,
– ’The failed Iraq will be a haven for terrorists.’
Just like the supposed ’imminent threat’ of Saddam, we must stay or our safety is at stake. Those that have dealt with the mafia would interpret this as a threat- do it or else. An argument could be made that the mafia never went away, it just morphed into the military-industrial complex.
I call on all Americans to put two and two together.
There were no chemical agents or UAVs, no nukes or mobile bio-weapons labs. If evil Saddam with WMDs was the original threat - and that’s been taken care of - then why is there a threat now?
Why must we continue to pay the price for this mistake?
George W. Bush says we are making progress in Iraq.
Double the troops deaths is progress alright.

Month by month, 2004 was worse than 2003.
2005 is looking even worse.

Here’s the conundrum: To get the Muslims to stop wanting to kill us, we would have to become Muslim. BUT, now that the US liberals want to remove any vestige of religion from our "state", they are making us more of a target because the removal of our belief in God, which, by the way, is the root of our morality, makes us even more decadant in the eyes of the fundamentalist Muslims, who want to kill us. Get a clue, before it’s too late. "Just bring our boys home" is an idiot’s chant. You must stand for something, otherwise, you’ll fall for anything.

You get real! Those chanting bring our troops home stand for more then you ever will....LIFE!
Duh...once the boys come home they can’t be killed and they can’t kill others.
The Muslims do not hate us, this is all a fabrication to advance the militaristic agenda of this and past Administrations. W. is happy to proclaim that they hate us for our freedom so that he can then pledge to get them before they get us.
Dropping bombs on innocent people, torturing and sexually abusing others, imprisoning people without charges, taking benefits away from those fighting for your country....YOU WAKE UP... THIS IS THE U.S. doing this not the Muslims!

No, what you say is not true. You have fallen for the mistaken belief that Muslims want to kill you because you are not Muslim. And that they would stop killing Americans if you were to become Muslim. Both of these are unjustfied errors. [Take a class in higher learning on "Reasoning" and hone your thinking logically.]
American troops are being killed because America invaded a country that happens to be majority Muslim. I doubt that you are capable of delimiting this in your mind. Had there been a majority zorotrainians or Christians in Iraq, would you say the same thing?
I suggest that you get a grip. Calm down.
Reason a little as to why this is happenning. The lie that your leader bestowed on you to focus your builtin hate onto another race of people appears to have been completely lost within you. As a result, the world is assured of your tax dollars being used for future mischief.

You’re a typical "Christian" loser. You stupid people think that unless you have some imaginary God installed in your brain that people can not know right from wrong. You think that you have to push your stupid ideas and your imaginary God on everyone or they won’t be able to resist killing others and stealing their stuff and raping their wives and children. You are so blind that you don’t see that it is the "Christians" that don’t know right from wrong, they approve of wars killing millions of innocent people because these people refuse to pretend to believe in imaginary Gods. You are so blind that you do not see that phony "Christians" are the ones killing, stealing (oil and other resources) and comitting rape and torture on innocent people. Get your head out of your ass and see your stupid religion for what it really is....a farce and a dangerous one at that.

george bush is an expert at turning the bankruptcy of the company he manges into his own procket profit. America he managing now is on the process of bankruptcy. As the rule of thumb, the more his employers lost the richer george bush would be. U.S. Solders lost their life would not be george bush problem because he himself or his two daughters would never join the army anyway. The main thing is America is losing. That means george bush is gainning. Good luck American!
