    When Mahatma Gandhi said, "First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win," he could have been talking about Ohio in 2004.     The economy might be showing signs of perking up, but employers are playing Grinch when it comes to year-end time off.
    Employees are getting less paid time off around the holidays than in previous years. With Christmas Day and New Year’s falling on successive Saturdays, 33% of companies plan to give workers three or more paid days off this year. Last year’s figure was almost twice as high, at 65%, according to the BNA.

    George W. Bush apparently is wearing a medical device for "persons at risk of cardiac arrest." It is a LifeVest wearable defibrillator. He started using it sometime after his January 2002 fainting spell, which was attributed to choking. Based on photos showing him wearing the device, one can conclude the fainting was due to atrial fibrillation (AF), which his father also had.
