Wars and conflicts International USA

For over 4 years Iraq has been a living Hell, but George W. "Decider Guy" Bush is still confident that some day in some way the good old guys in the white hats will prevail. After all, that’s the myth that persists in many circles. Of course the folks who believe that tripe are themselves going in circles.

Let’s suppose a most unlikely scenario; that by September General Patreaus reviews the Iraq situation and concludes that indeed the smoke has cleared and the government has changed it’s mind about the US getting out, the suicide bombers have ceased their angst, that the oil deal is signed, water and electricity are flowing, sewers back in action and electricity once again a normalcy, and he gives the go ahead for another 100 billion buck suplimental and occupation for the next 25 years. Let’s assume that.

That only leaves the problem of escalating gas prices, 60% unemployment, continued secular violence, mass emigration by professionals, poor medical care, severely reduced educational facilities, doctors and nurses fleeing the land, drug and arms smuggling galore, and proliferation of Western-style pornography.....and hey!..I nearly forgot the horrible and diabolical plague of Depleted Uranium which is killing 10s of thousands including US troops and causing still births and worse.

But after all those are just minor inconveniences, considering what the United States has to gain: The admiration of a grateful Iraqi public, the creation of a dynamic and viable democrasy, the end of a tyrant and his sons, and the construction of the world’s largest embassy in the Green Zone!

When the smoke clears we all know it will be worth it. What are a few hundred raped or tortured souls or a few hundred thousand dead collaterals compared to the fait accompli...a foothold in the Middle East to brag about, the strengthening of Israel’s security and our "ear" on Russia with the usual gang of CIA embassy guys.

Well worth it!
