The Israeli army has been accused of using Palestinian civilians as human shields in an operation in northern Gaza.
According to the Israeli human rights group, B’tselem, six civilians including two minors were subjected to the illegal tactic during an incursion into the town of Beit Hanoun last week.
There are piles of rubble leading up to the hole in Hazem Ali’s house.
It’s a week since Israel came into Beit Hanoun, but the gash in the side of his house is still (…)

Propaganda is part of every war, just like bombs and soldiers. Still, it’s remarkable how professionally Israel deals with foreign journalists, catering conscientiously to all their needs. Lunch included.
The phone rings at 9 a.m. — right on time. "Hello, this is the Government Press Office," pipes a woman’s voice. "What are you planning to do today? Do you need an idea?" And then the suggestions just keep coming — interview partners; a tour to the houses in Haifa (…) -
Images of protest against Lebanon massacre

These are some signs made for a local Lebanese solidarity event. The original inspiration came from an interview I heard with Tina Naccache from Lebanon, who mentioned that they had made pictures of bombs with US and Israeli flags on them for a protest in Beirut.
It seemed right to the point, and I came up with these - I really wanted to drive home the central point of US complicity for an American audience, which I hope I’ve done passing well.
The links between (…) -

"The media focuses its total attention and coverage on the suffering of Israelis and their uncontrollable ?anxiety? Thousands of demonstrators joined a march in London on Saturday calling for a ceasefire in Lebanon.
On a bright afternoon many of central London’s streets were filled with thousands of people of all ages and races chanting in unison.
"Ceasefire now! Ceasefire now!" was among the chants adopted by the placard holding throng, as was "Hands off Lebanon", and a number of others criticising Tony Blair and George Bush.

After years of terrorising an occupied people, the rogue regimes of Washington and Tel Aviv may finally have met their match.

Remember Kosovo and the rest of the stricken Balkans? Remember the Kurds in northern Iraq? What moving dispatches those crises generated in the west, together with such damnation for their tormentors. According to my memory, they were each called "the most moral cause of our generation." There was no question, said the crusaders, of right and wrong; (…) -
Lebanon: Transform the resistance into a broad struggle for national and social liberation

As the Israeli air force, armed by US imperialism, bombs the villages of southern Lebanon, destroys the infrastructure, and assassinates civilians, mostly children, the elderly, and disabled people, the Lebanese government of Fouad Siniora “regrets” that the “international community” won’t intervene to stop the offensive, hoping that the principal sponsor of Israel, the United States, would consider that enough bombs had been dropped by now for a cease-fire to be (…)
