CRAWFORD - Shortly after Joan Baez arrived Sunday afternoon at Camp Casey II, she gave a press conference with the Gold Star Families, all of whom have lost loved ones in the war. She talked with them, and she cried with them.
Ms. Baez returned to the trailer to prepare for her performance, speaking only in whispers when it was necessary to speak at all, saving her voice.
She gave a moving performance, peppered with energy, emotion, humor, and humanity. She even showed (…)

COINTEL operative discourages going to Crawford-admits Peace House paid off mortgage with Donations
23 August 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
Cindy has asked that as many as possible join her in Crawford, and as the momentum and numbers are growing COINTELPRO operatives swarm the internet trying to discourage people from going. Just like the organizers at the protest, they are actively trying to lesson the numbers. What is interesting is that the operative supports giving even more money to the Crawford Peace House. Althought the Crawford Peace House has denied paying off their mortgage with donations meant for Cindy...it is (…)

President Bush Knows the True Reasons He Started A War in Iraq, But He’s Not Going to Tell

Every year, right around the anniversary of 9/11 the Bush administration spins the public about the reasons 1,864 American soldiers have died fighting for a lie in Iraq. And every year, it’s just as crucial that the media tell the public the truth about the reasons the war was started.
So here goes.
The disinformation campaign the White House launched last weekend should leave no doubt that the war in Iraq was hatched well before 9/11 and is part of a broader strategy (…) -
The Listening Tent and the Raw Talk Revival: Camp Casey, Phase Two

If by socialism you mean the kind of world that officers’ kids enjoy, then I’m pretty much for it. It’s the kind of world I grew up in. Free health care, pretty good job security, cheap movies (that I could afford to attend every night in a row), swimming pools, bowling alleys, shooting ranges, craft shops, safe streets, and no private property to speak of. The toughest day on base was the day you “cleared quarters”, when a soldier with clipboard would come to your house and (…) -
WHAT WOULD YOU DIE FOR?

Many people have willingly sacrificed their lives for unselfish or patriotic reasons. They throw themselves in the path of a truck to save a child, they drown in an effort to save a companion, or throw themselves on a live grenade to save their buddies. In 1941 after listening to reports of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, and the continuing reports of the deeds of Hitler and Mussolini in Europe, I hurried to the local Recruiting Office to volunteer for military service. The (…) -
Machiavelli and U.S. Politics Part 4: War

On the subject of war, Machiavelli offers simple advice (chapter 14):
"Thus a prince should have no other object, nor any other thought, nor take anything else as his art but that of war and its orders and discipline; for that is the only art which is of concern to one who commands. "
Again it is important to remember that Machiavelli’s chief concern is not the freedom or well-being of (…) -
Camp Casey to focus on Exposing Bush Lies

Cindy Sheehan wrote: "Memo to Drudge, et al: It’s Not About Me, It’s About the War"
and "Our true mission is to bring attention to the occupation of Iraq and bringing our troops home."
So, it’s time for the crew in Crawford to get on message.
Every Voice in Camp Casey needs to FOCUS- this is not about Cindy - it’s about the war. They’ve made it about Cindy so they can tear her down. So we need to take the message back. This stand in Texas is about exposing the lies and (…) -
Folk legend Baez joins protesters near Bush ranch

By Tabassum Zakaria
CRAWFORD, Texas - Folk singer Joan Baez joined anti-war protesters near U.S. President George W. Bush’s ranch on Sunday to meet with military families who want troops pulled out of Iraq.
"You know in the first march I went on against the war in Vietnam there were 10 of us," Baez said as she met with a group of women whose sons died in Iraq or were being deployed there.
"This is huge," she said.
Hundreds of anti-war supporters sat on fold-out chairs under a huge (…) -
Habitual lies to promote a war against the guiltless are pretty telling...

In June, US president Bush’s spinmeister and advisor Karl Rove had this to say of liberals concerning September 11: “Liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers.”
I still say that this statement is ludicrous and just plain nuts.
I am of the belief we go after those who not only attack us as a nation, but also personally. I am not of the belief of excusing horrific behavior and (…) -

« A Daytrip Without Cindy: Friday at Camp Casey The Listening Tent and the Raw Talk Revival: Camp Casey, Phase Two »

Two weeks ago in Crawford, Texas there was a lonely Peace House with payments to make and not much money in the bank. Today, there is not only a Peace House with enough money in the bank to pay it off, but there are two (count ‘em two!) Camp Caseys that now reach out and around the vacation home of the President of the USA, supporting a peace movement that (…)
