Nouri Mesmari turned himself over to the French secret service and, according to the Italians, he masterminded the revolution against Gaddafi. The document was leaked to Italian newspaper Libero.
In the documents, the French secret services refer to Mesmari as ‘The Libyan Wikileak’ because he gave them all the inside information about the regime as well as account of who’s who in Libya and who they should or should not contact.
With all the inside (…)

Crack SAS troops hunt Gaddafi weapons inside Libya
25 March 2011 par (Open-Publishing)
Hundreds of British SAS soldiers have been operating with rebel groups inside Libya for three weeks, the Sunday Mirror can reveal today.
Two special forces units, nicknamed “Smash” teams for their destructive ability, are hunting Colonel Gaddafi’s long-range surface-to-air missile systems, which could launch attacks on jets or commercial airliners.
The crack troops have been racing against time to pinpoint the Libyan Army’s most potent strategic weapon, the Russian-made SAM 5 missile (…) -

"A Canadian General will take over command of the NATO mission in Libya, according to a White House official. Lieutenant-General Charles Bouchard has been designated by NATO as head of the alliance’s military campaign in Libya. He wll work with ’his naval and air component commands’ to enforce the no-fly zone and the so-called civilian-protection mission in Libya.
He is currently listed as Deputy Commander of the Allied Joint Task Force Command in (…) -
THE MEANINGLESS CONCEPT OF ETHICAL WAR : THE CASE AGAINST INTERVENTION
25 March 2011 par (Open-Publishing)
By John Chuckman
French air force planes struck the first blows: using “intelligent” munitions, the planes struck tanks and artillery which threatened the people of Benghazi.
Now, who wouldn’t be heartened to learn that mechanized forces being used against civilians, civilians whose only demand was freedom from tyranny, were destroyed?
One might easily regard intervention, limited strictly to such targets, as both ethical and desirable, but the truth is that intervention is never (…) -
Not One Dime for War on Libya!
24 March 2011 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentThe wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have cost over $3 trillion,
with no end in sight.
And every single penny was charged to our uncontrolled national
debt, even as Republicans endlessly denounced the immorality of
that debt.
At a time when tyrants are murdering civilians in numerous
countries, why are we bombing Libya?
Is it just because John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and Joe
Lieberman went on TV to demand it? Why do three TV Senators get (…) -

"Canada’s social democratic party, the New Democratic Party (NDP) issued a statement on February 22, calling on the UN Security Council, that is for the great powers, to establish a no-fly zone over Libya and continued to repeat this demand, even as top US officials spelled out clearly that a no-fly zone was commensurate with war. The NDP’s demand has now been realized and with the social democrats’ blessing in the only forum that it could have ever been realized by, the (…) -
Relief will fade as we see the real impact of intervention in Libya
22 March 2011 par (Open-Publishing)
Welcome though it seems on humanitarian grounds, there are six serious problems with this UN resolution
The first reaction was relief. The UN security council resolution 1973 authorising foreign intervention in Libya was held up as an attempt to protect the Libyan rebels and alleviate their suffering, and who would not welcome that? Who would not want to stop a bully intent on "wiping out" those who oppose him? But any relief should be tempered by serious misgivings.
First, what motives (…) -

France-UK-US (FUKUS) Coalition starts Libyan War & Libyan Holocaust on 8th anniversary of Iraq Invasion
21 March 2011 par (Open-Publishing)
1 comment20 March 2011 marks the 8th anniversary of the illegal, war criminal invasion of Iraq by the US, UK and Australia. Post-invasion violent deaths (1.4 million) and non-violent avoidable deaths from war-imposed deprivation (1.2 million) total 2.6 million. Yet the Western France-UK-US (FUKUS) Coalition ignores the carnage of the ongoing Iraqi Holocaust and Iraqi Genocide and marked this dreadful anniversary by commencing a devastating high technology war on another Arab nation, Libya, a Libyan (…)

Britain and the USA have bombed Libya with more than one hundred Tomahawk cruise missiles. These are not precision guided weapons but weapons of mass destruction that will create many civilian casualties in Libya.
The United Nations resolution authorising a no-fly zone begins as it will continue, with a full-scale military attack on the country.
Stop the War condemns this barbarous attack which will result, not in (…)
