Home > Wink Wink, Nudge Nudge: Iraq’s sorry September Song
Wars and conflicts International USA
So here we are, already in Summer. Mild enough in the US hinterlands but pure grade AAA Hell in Iraq.
Back home on the hill, Washington pundits are tired of the same old, same old...gutter sniping by Congress, the endless battle over illegals, dominance by religio-fascists still pushing stereotypes and genocide across the globe, the EIGHTEEN ’08 presidential dunces, and of course the pending Summer vacation for Washington elites, which they will spend taking potshots from the great unwashed back home and generally try to hustle up more pork bucks from their lobbyist pals. The say most men lead lives of quiet desperation, and at this juncture the Congress can join those ranks.
Ahh, but what about September? Isn’t that when the "stuff" is supposed to hit the proverbial fan? Isn’t that when Odierno and Patreaus give us their "snapshot" about the positive results of the incredible surge tactics. If any.
The blind man can see it, and even the town idiot knows it; the surge was too little, too late, and American occupiers are even more despised now than in the beginning. Candy and smiles, flowers and promises don’t cut it anymore. We’ve sliced and diced too many of the locals. We’ve wiped out their businesses and infrastructure and brought a holocaust to their people through the influx of various rebel fighters who give their lives for their causes...ridiculous or not. We’ve promised the moon, poured in billions..and the only benefits derived were to dishonest contractors and Wall Street speculators.
Of course by now the Congress knows what the September Song will be; "Give us until Spring" "Give us another $100 Billion"...and why shouldn’t the very folks who rate a mere 9% in recent polls...and the moron who rates a dismal 26%...respond in the affirmative? After all, America cannot admit defeat, can we? And we all know that if we "surrender", THEY will "follow us home"
We’ve got the money. China gives it to us every day. So why not just press on.
Hail fellows, well met.
Bush thinks.
