This year South Asia (Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Maldives) celebrates 60 years of Independence from racist, colonialist, imperialist Britain. 2 centuries of violent, racist British rule was associated with horrendous avoidable mortality (excess deaths, deaths that would not have happened under benign and competent rule) totalling 1.5 BILLION (see: ; also see the recent book “Body Count. Global avoidable mortality since 1950: ). Thus the annual death rate (…)

Secretly, when you slink down the back allys of Foggy Bottom and query those "in the know", they will confide that this "war" is considered by Washingtonians as the biggest success in our history!
Huh?

Corporate Tested, Media Approved
10 July 2007The face race is well underway and in full swing, the second quarter fundraising stats are in and Obama raised more money than Hillary did. John McCain raised less than Rudy but neither raised as much as Obama of course this is all media crapola. The idea that some how fundraising equates to support when in fact the opposite is more likely true. The media opines fundraising is the only metric they have to gauge support before actual ballots are cast. That is of course complete and total (…)

"Demonstration" Government in Palestine
10 July 2007by Stephen Lendman
In 1984 (a year of Orwellian significance), activist and media and social critic Edward Herman wrote one of his many important books titled "Demonstration Elections." In it, he analyzed the US-staged elections in the 1960s in the Dominican Republic and Vietnam and the 1982 one in El Salvador. In the book’s Orwellian glossary of terms, he defined the process as "A circus held in a client state to assure the population of the home country that their intrusion is well (…) -

10 July 2007by Jason Miller
"Children are completely egoistic; they feel their needs intensely and strive ruthlessly to satisfy them." Sigmund Freud
Frightening as it may be, the Earth’s fate rests in the hands of children. With incredibly formidable military firepower at its disposal, the United States could catalyze Armageddon at any time. And while they may be adults chronologically, our sociopolitical structure is dominated by emotional infants.
Nietzsche once pronounced God dead. In the (…) -

Reinventing A War Criminal
10 July 2007Britain’s most despised and discredited man ended his 10 year reign June 27 when he stepped down from office transferring his ruling Labor Party’s leadership to successor Gordon Brown. He had no choice because of seething public displeasure over his allying with George Bush’s illegal wars on Iraq and Afghanistan. Most Brits oppose them, yet the vast majority of Labor and Conservative MPs, including new prime minister Gordon Brown, supported them early on, now may have second thoughts, but (…)
