The Killing of a Brazilian man shows that either the British police are nervous, inexperienced and naive, or it was a deliberate act by the police to give a message to foreigners, especially coloured people. It is disgusting to hear all British politicians, including George Galloway, using decades-old stereotypes to praise police and security services. Presumably they do so because the police in Britain are seen as protectors. Their presence is seen as reassurance for the public as they (...)

2 commentsPolice gun down worker in London subway: another tragic consequence of Blair’s war policy
The public state execution of Jean Charles de Menezes in a London subway carriage on July 22 marks a watershed.
England, the country of the Magna Carta, is now one in which innocent civilians can be shot dead on the capital’s streets at the discretion of the police, without any explanation, much less justification, and with the only outcome being a brief statement of regret.
Eyewitnesses have (...) -
Scary Police State emerges in UK and USA
25 July 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
56 commentsThe powers that be are taking us down another notch towards a total police state. What should cause public outrage is being swept aside as par for the course in today’s world of terror attacks.
London police just chased down a man and shot him- after they had him detained and he did NOT appear to be a threat.
He was pinned down on the floor and shot through the head five times- is that ok with you?!
If he had a bomb strapped on him, why didn’t the police remove his coat to prove it? (...) -
Cook: War in Iraq boosted terrorism
24 July 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
Former foreign secretary Robin Cook has said the invasion of Iraq had "undoubtedly" boosted terrorism around the world.
Mr Cook, who quit the Cabinet over his opposition to the war, said that unless the Government addressed the issue it would struggle to win over young Muslims in Britain.
He stressed that he was not arguing that the attacks on London would not have occurred if Britain had not joined the invasion.
However he said intelligence agencies had warned Tony Blair on the eve (...) -
How Black Ops Staged the London Bombings
24 July 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
3 commentsStaged terror events —like magic tricks— rely on misdirection to throw people off the track. The first step in uncovering how the London bombings were carried out by a Western black operations team -is to see through the key misdirections they built into the operation.
Here’s the official spin on what happened:
Key evidence of the movements of the four alleged bombers comes from a single CCTV image of four similar-looking individuals entering Luton Station to catch a London-bound (...) -

Truth Struggling
23 July 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsBy John Pilger
In all the coverage of the bombing of London, a truth has struggled to be heard. With honourable exceptions, it has been said guardedly, apologetically. Occasionally, a member of the public has broken the silence, as an East Londoner did when he walked in front of a CNN camera crew and reporter in mid-platitude. "Iraq!" he said. "We invaded Iraq and what did we expect? Go on say it."
The Scottish MP Alex Salmond tried to say it on BBC radio. He was told he was speaking (...) -

The Colorado congressman, "Rep. Tom Tancredo ", told a radio show host, Pat Campbell, that the U.S. could "take out" Islamic holy sites if Muslim fundamentalist terrorists attacked the country with nuclear weapons. "You’re talking about bombing Mecca," Campbell said. "Yeah," Tancredo responded.
