Today, looking blustery and disturbed, George Bush took the podium in the Rose Garden and made a rank fool of himself yet again under fire from the usually wimpy Washington Press Corps.
Bush looked every bit like the well known horse who was "rode hard and put up wet". He was unusually rambly in his smirky responses to questions which were often barely polite. He kept mentioning al Qaeda and 9/11 and how we can’t give up the noble fight. He also stated that the American people whom he (…)

Ignoring evil in America

Whenever I see images of George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Alberto Gonzales, Condoleezza Rice, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Katherine Harris and other minions of, or apologists for, the corrupt, inept, mendacious and venal Bush dictatorship, I am immediately reminded of this line from John Carpenter’s classic horror movie Halloween: “What is living behind [their] eyes is purely and simply evil.”
Yet in America there is a great (…) -

As illustrated in this graphic by Chris Jeffries, the Dems have surrendered. They’ve surrendered to Bush and Cheney and abandoned our troops to remaining in Iraq to kill, die, and suffer for - let’s be exact here - eternity. The votes this week are only happening because the Democratic leadership has chosen to make them happen. If members of the Democratic leadership vote No, that is only because they are hypocrits. They are only voting No because they know there are (…) -
The Right’s Crisis in Confidence
24 May 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
by Wayne Besen
In sports, it is known that confidence is the main ingredient that separates great players from those who are merely good. A legend, such as Michael Jordan, could miss ten shots in a row, but he would still expect the eleventh shot to fall. The average player, on the other hand, would start having doubts after a few missed baskets, even if he has the same physical talents as the star.
After tossing a generous number of political bricks, the religious right is in the midst (…) -

The Securities and Exchange Commission today unanimously approved interpretive guidance to help public companies strengthen their internal control over financial reporting while reducing unnecessary costs, particularly at smaller companies. The new guidance will enhance compliance under Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 by focusing company management on the internal controls that best protect against the risk of a material financial misstatement.

WASHINGTON - Swiss police who closely monitor the circulation of counterfeit currency have challenged the Bush administration’s assertions that North Korea is manufacturing fake American $100 bills.
President Bush has accused North Korea of making and circulating the false bills, so perfect they’re called supernotes, and in late 2005 (…) -
Man is the Most Amazing Jack ass

“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players: They have their entrances and their exits:” Old Will Shakespeare knew his stuff, why that line alone is worth the price of admission. Now if you couple that with the famous Mark Twain quote, “Man is the most amazing Jack ass” you have a workable foundation for a philosophy of life and an insight into the mechanics of the world.
But it is too succinct to be a religion and far to humble to be a philosophy, now if Will and (…) -
The Grauniad: An Unlimited Conduit for USUK’s War Propaganda
24 May 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
Fed up of the garbage with which their mainstream media force-feeds them, North American as well as readers all over the world have turned to newspapers like the UK’s Guardian in the hope of finding informed, intelligent reporting of world events. They will be disappointed. Today’s Guardian is as much part of an Orwellian, Atlanticist, warmongering propaganda campaign as is the disgraceful New York Times.
Far from being the ’socialist’ newspaper that our American cousins believe it to be, (…) -
God, it Just Gets Easier

5 commentsTo find subjects to write about I sometimes peruse the foreign press. Amazingly, I find great numbers of news stories that cease to be news once they cross the borders of the good old U.S.A. Perhaps it is our obsession with ourselves a sort of a whole nation contemplating their navel. After all between American Idol, drunken starlets and missing and murdered white women not every thing can make the front page. I find in the Japanese and Chinese newspapers have a greater interest in the (…)
