Retired Generals Challenge GOP in Ads By PHILIP ELLIOTT
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - Three retired generals challenged a dozen members of Congress in a new ad campaign, saying the politicians can’t support President Bush’s policies in Iraq and still expect to win re-election.
"I am outraged, as are the majority of Americans. I’m a lifelong Republican, but it’s past time for change," retired Maj. Gen. John Batiste told reporters.
"Our strategy in Iraq today is more of the same, a slow grind to (…)

Why the Pentagon censors Soldiers’ access to the Internet

The situation BOTH in Iraq and in Afghanistan is a lot more involved than mainstream media can fathom. And, if it could fathom what is going on, it would not be allowed to report it for obvious reasons, as this would further undermine the morale of the Western world.
Troops and their families at home used to be able to at least write emails to each other via blog spots and troops were also allowed to access certain parts of the internet. This is now no longer possible.

Some soldiers are luckier than others, that’s for damned sure. Many have been ordered back to the Zone for up to 4 additional tours in Hell. They comply, and in general they don’t complain; but they do wonder if this crazy military adventure/holy war is important enough to die for. Some who do just that never resolved the question.
Thousands come home on stretchers, and hundreds more in boxes. Few are seen but all (…) -

The ’rules’ of American capitalism

I am the voice of the voiceless. I am the exploited, powerless against the machinations of the exploiter. I am the honest, so my truth will be used against me. I am the victim of capitalism in America.
Capitalism in America is covertly governed by three unwritten rules. The first two rules work in tandem: 1). Treat others the way you would NOT want to be treated; 2). Always measure the value of human beings by your self-interest, not theirs.
In 1991, the company (…) -
Liar’s Primer

Having been a kid and now having been a parent I’m consider myself somewhat of an expert on the subject of lying. There are certain ground rules followed by even the most accomplished liars children, politicians, lawyers, newspaper editors everyone in the trade. First of all it’s never their fault they will never accept responsibility for anything associated with the calamity, “I wanted to be home on time Dad but I was riding with the guys and they promised me we’d be back on time.” Or (…)

Reports from Russian Military Analysts are describing what they term as a ‘rapidly declining will-to-fight” among American Soldiers fighting in Iraq, with the greatest concern being placed upon US Soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division who reportedly this past week refused orders to ‘take to field’ against their Iraqi insurgent enemies.
According to these reports, the unprecedented rebellion against their (…) -

WHEN THE SMOKE CLEARS...a few problems remain
17 May 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentFor over 4 years Iraq has been a living Hell, but George W. "Decider Guy" Bush is still confident that some day in some way the good old guys in the white hats will prevail. After all, that’s the myth that persists in many circles. Of course the folks who believe that tripe are themselves going in circles.
Let’s suppose a most unlikely scenario; that by September General Patreaus reviews the Iraq situation and concludes that indeed the smoke has cleared and the government has changed it’s (…)
