NEW ORLEANS, LA - AUGUST 3, 2006 - St. Bernard Parish resident and Hurricane Katrina survivor Rockey Vaccarella is towing his honorary FEMA trailer to Washington D.C. on August 18, 2006 in hopes of having dinner with President Bush. Rockey is a true survivor who rode out Hurricane Katrina on his roof by holding on to a rope for four hours in one of the most devastated areas of the New Orleans region. He eventually swam to safety then got in a boat to help rescue others. Now Rockey is on a (…)

Iraq War Vets’ Support for Lt. Watada Growing

Clifton Hicks was looking for a body. Specifically, the Army tank driver was fumbling about in the dark, looking for and failing to find the remains of the Iraqis who, moments before, had been firing on his tank. When Hicks’s flashlight swept the ground around his feet, he realized he was standing in the remains of a man. Literally. His boots wedged between the rib cage and the pelvis, blood and human organs squishing out from beneath the soles of his shoes.
It’s this (…) -
White Heat

"When I tell you that the area where I grew up now resembles Tijuana more than the US—well, hang on, you’re about to see what I mean," says Theresa Harmon. Tennessee’s most vociferous anti-immigration organizer has just picked me up, straight from work at a local construction firm, in her red 1986 Mercury Cougar—a "kicker," she calls it fondly, apologizing for the lack of air-conditioning. "Bless your heart—I’m used to the heat," she says, talking her usual mile a (…) -
HILLARY CLINTON: IS SHE THE NEXT PRO-WAR DEMOCRAT TO FALL?

DUMMERSTON, Vt. - Joe Lieberman’s sorry hide has been nailed to the wall, and there is rejoicing in the land (except from the lobbyists, pundits and political hacks who make up the permanent occupation force of Washington).
And while I am pleased to see a discredited, humiliated Lieberman forced to cast his lot in with his friends in the Republican Party, I won’t be completely convinced that the revolution is here until Hillary Clinton’s hide is nailed to the wall (…) -

The buzz throughout the Internet is that a sizable number of those who do not buy the “official 9/11 story” that’s been shoveled to America for the past five years are coming en masse to Washington, DC in September. Apparently, many who have done careful research regarding the disturbing events that took the lives of nearly 2,800 have a great deal of information to share.
As anti-war (…) -

12000 US Dead in Iraq, 25000 Seriously Wounded
Brian Harring - TBR News.org August 15, 2006
Note: There is excellent reason to believe that the Department of Defense is deliberately not reporting a significant number of the dead in Iraq. We have received copies of manifests from the MATS that show far more bodies shipped into Dover AFP than are reported officially. The actual death toll is in excess of 10,000. (See the official records linked at the end of this piece.) Given the (…) -
Again, Bush’s government proves that USA is on the side of the terrorists!

When Ned Lamont won the Democratic primary in Connecticut against the three term senator, Joe Lieberman, it was taken that Democratic voters and Democrats themselves do not take terrorism seriously.
As a Democrat here in the United States, I will go on record stating that is complete nonsense.
Through many columns here at VHeadline.com, I have been calling for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles who is presently being held in El Paso, Texas.
It seems that the (…) -
This Fall, We Declare Peace!

Fear is in the air again. From Dick Cheney to Joe Lieberman, the proponents of the Iraq War are once again playing the fear card to try to shore up support for their failed policies — policies that have only made us more vulnerable to attacks like the one thwarted last week in England.
Neither their overheated rhetoric, nor their color-coded warnings, nor their bloated and ineffectual "homeland security" apparatus are doing anything to keep us safer. They’re just (…) -
Has Bush v. Gore Become the Case That Must Not Be Named?

At a law school Supreme Court conference that I attended last fall, there was a panel on “The Rehnquist Court.” No one mentioned Bush v. Gore, the most historic case of William Rehnquist’s time as chief justice, and during the Q. and A. no one asked about it. When I asked a prominent law professor about this strange omission, he told me he had been invited to participate in another Rehnquist retrospective, and was told in advance that Bush v. Gore would not be discussed. (…) -
They fight for our freedom...Our soldiers in Iraq
16 August 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
7 commentsThanks to Bush’s lies which thrust young soldiers into a "war" against "insurgents" in Afghanistan and especially Iraq....thanks to poor and irresponsible recruiting techniques back home....we are losing the VERY expensive "war on terror".
Here is a sample of our troop makeup which clearly demonstrates why we aren’t winning...and never will.
