By Marc Ash,
Fitzgerald Investigation
I’d like to break this posting into two categories: What we know, and what we believe. They will be clearly marked.
We know that we have now three independent sources confirming that attorneys for Karl Rove were handed an indictment either late in the night of May 12 or early in the morning of May 13. We know that each source was in a position to know what they were talking about. We know that the office of Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald will (…)

FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS
24 May 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
6 commentsby David R. Hoffman, Legal Editor of PRAVDA.Ru
The Bells did not toll in remembrance on April 9, 2006. The flags did not fly at half-mast. The rubbish that passes for “news” in the world of corporate-controlled media did not mention his name. Even the glut of television programs and networks devoted to the sycophantic worship of “celebrities” failed to acknowledge him.
He was, after all, a man of substance, and substance finds no home in a culture obsessed with sensationalism and (…) -
Open Letter To Mayor Nagin of New Orleans
24 May 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentDear Mayor Nagin,
Congratulations on your re-election.
I would like to suggest to you a form of housing that is low cost, yet extremely durable and energy efficient. I first heard of it in Mother Earth News magazine - www.motherearthnews.com - which has been publishing since the 60’s. The article can be found in the October/November 2005 issue. (They are a bi-monthly publication.) It is called Earth Bag construction.
This could really be a good alternative around the entire Gulf Coast (…) -
Sucks to be you! Americans’ unforgivable attitude toward immigration
24 May 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
By Daniel Patrick Welch
Those who wish to read US history undistorted, rather than use its mythology for their own ends, are already hip to the never-ending plight of immigrants to "America"’s shores. "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me: I lift my lamp beside the golden door."
Lazarus’ famous poem, like its namesake, winds up rising from the dead, or rather, (…) -

I believe Dennis Kucinich,Russ Feingold and Cindy Sheenan deserves the JFK award, more than John Murtha by Sue West
In my opinion, Dennis Kucinich, Russ Feingold and Cindy Sheenan, deserves the JFK award, more so than Murtha does! While, Murtha’s recent stand to bring our troops home immediately is admiralable and commendable, and I totally agree with it, it’s easy when war is unpopular to be against it but it takes REAL "profiles in courage" to stand up and be against it (…) -
Should Noam Chomsky Reset His Compass?

8 comments“Don’t tell fish stories where the people know you.” - Mark Twain
Recently I read the book: “Imperial Ambitions: Conversations on the Post-9/II World,” (2005, Metropolitan Books),” which contains interviews by David Barsamian with Noam Chomsky on a wide range of issues, including the Iraqi War. I was deeply disappointed with it. Not because there wasn’t a lot of solid analysis in it. There was. My misgivings dealt with what was left out of the paperback. If the comedian Stephen Colbert (…) -

6 commentsNew Estimate of Venezuela’s Total Oil Reserves Makes It the Grandest of Grand Prizes for US - by Stephen Lendman
I just finished reading an important new book the author’s publisher sent me, which I’ll shortly be reviewing for publication. The book is investigative journalist (and in his words "forensic economist") Greg Palast’s latest foray into exposing the hidden from view crimes and wrongdoings of the Bush administration. I’m very familiar with Palast’s important work and can only (…) -

OUR PURPOSE
To help reclaim the honor of the United States of America
Instilled by the Cadet Honor System with a fundamental, longstanding respect for truth, we graduates of the United States Military Academy believe that honor is a basic attribute of character. That we are no longer cadets is irrelevant. We stand appalled by the deceitful behavior of the government of the United States and, in particular, its widely known malefactors. (…)
