War On Terror A Losing Game

3 commentsWar On Terror A Losing Game By Michael Harris June 23, 2006
What will it take to persuade this government that our military deployment in Afghanistan is a disaster for Canada?
Stephen Harper bristles at the very notion of seriously debating this doomed mission.
But the president of the country we are supposed to be "securing" sees it differently. Afghanistan’s president, Hamid Karzai, says that the recent deaths of 600 Afghans in the so-called war on terror is "unacceptable."
He (…) -
Miami “terror” arrests-a government provocation
25 June 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentThere are many incongruities surrounding the arrest of seven men from the impoverished Liberty City neighborhood of Miami on charges of conspiracy to “wage war on the United States” that suggest it, like so many previous “terrorist plots” announced by the Bush administration, is a government-inspired provocation mounted for reactionary political ends.
None of the claims made by the government and repeated uncritically by the media concerning the arrest of these young working-class men can (…) -
Money-tracking leak angers Cheney
25 June 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
US Vice-President Dick Cheney has condemned as "offensive" US media disclosures of a secret programme that probes global financial transactions.
The government has covertly tracked thousands of international money transactions for nearly five years as part of its so-called war on terror.
Mr Cheney said leaking the programme played into the enemy’s hands.
The New York Times defended its coverage, saying the information was in the public’s interest.

WASHINGTON, June 22 - Under a secret Bush administration program initiated weeks after the Sept. 11 attacks, counterterrorism officials have gained access to financial records from a vast international database and examined banking transactions involving thousands of Americans and others in the United States, according to government and industry officials.
The program is limited, government officials say, to tracing transactions of people suspected of ties to Al Qaeda by reviewing records (…) -

2 commentsFBI Says, “No Hard Evidence Connecting Bin Laden To 9/11” By Ed Haas, Muckraker Report June 6, 2006 - This past weekend, a thought provoking e-mail circulated through Internet news groups, and was sent to the Muckraker Report by Mr. Paul V. Sheridan (Winner of the 2005 Civil Justice Foundation Award), bringing attention to the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorist web page for Usama Bin Laden.[1] (See bottom of this web page for Most Wanted page) In the e-mail, the question is asked, “Why doesn’t (…)

The Only People Who May Miss Al-Zarqawi Are The Pro-War Neocons, Who Claimed He Was Part Of Al-Qaida

The Final Say The Only People Who May Miss Al-Zarqawi Are The Pro-War Neocons, Who Claimed He Was Part Of Al-Qaida To Justify The Invasion Of Iraq By Eric Margolis June 11, 2006 "Zarqawi will be dead soon," two of his disgruntled Jordanian supporters told me in March. "He will be betrayed by his own men."
And that’s likely what happened last week. Tipped off that Iraq’s most wanted man was in a rural house, U.S. aircraft bombed it, killing some of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi’s top aides, a (…) -
Don’t Blame Canada

5 commentsDon’t Blame Canada By Stephen Lautens June 16, 2006 In the past few weeks, I’ve heard some of the yapping social experts say something that really gets my blood boiling.
I heard it in reference to two recent incidents - the breaking up of an alleged terrorist plot and a sweep in Toronto that arrested a few truckloads of gang members.
What was it the enlightened commentators said that got my goat? When it was pointed out the people accused in each case were immigrants or ethnic (…) -
Reality is NOT optional!

1 commentThe latest scheme of mind control and social domination is called \"Terrorism\" and is built on the pretext that an enemy viewed by a military intelligence organisation \"decides in secret\" what, whom and what the target \"TERRORIST\" is; which could be anybody from a school child to and old person in a wheel chair, or MORE LIKELY the ACTUAL TERRORISM COMES from corrupt politicians, greedy bankers, the military industrial complex using the \"PRETEXT\" of \"SECRET\" information to CONTROL (…)
