Somehow, a real reporter slipped by Whitehouse security and asked Bush and Blair about the Downing Street Memo.

Both Bush and Blair offer ’proof’ that the memo was wrong because they went to the United Nations afterward.
Blair first....
’The fact that we decided to go to the United Nations and went throught that process which resulted in the resolution to give saddam a final chance to comply, he didn’t do so, and that was the reason we had to take military action. We were trying to look for a way to resolve this without action, but we weren’t able to do that because there was no way saddam would change the way that he worked or the way he acted’
but he had no weapons!
Then Commander Cuckoo Bananas....
’ Somebody said well, we had made up our minds to use military force and there is nothing further from the truth. My conversations with the prime minister was how can we do this peacefully? The meeting that took place happened before we even went to the UN, I went to the UN. And so it’s us...Both of us didn’t want to use our military. Nobody wants to commit military into action. It’s a last option. The consequences of committing the military are very difficult. The hardest thing I do as president is trying to comfort the families who lost a love one in combat. It’s a last option. So we worked hard to try to figure out how to do this peacefully.’

It is quite obvious in their responses (Blair & Bush) that they are covering their trails. They did not denounce the memo or its content. They did not reject the authenticity of the memo. I am not convinced by their answers but yet I am not surprise either way. If I was in their position (President & Prime Minister), I would hold firm on their story. What else can they do, they are in a desparate position. We expect them to stand behind their lies. Nixon did... Despite their miscalculation....the truth will always eventually prevail. There is nothing more satisfying to an honest human being than to squich the truth out of a liar.
Bush/Blair & Co wants to hold on to the story that it was because of Saddam and WMD that they went to WAR. People... that is only part of the story. The story and its event is incomplete.
What we are questioning now are the other part of the story that the BUSH & CO are tenatiously trying to duck. The root of the story. The more they avoid it....the more they appear guilty. WE RECOGNIZE A BEHAVIOR OF A PERSON THAT IS HIDING THE TRUTH. The truth seem to appear and to surface with power when it is found-out. Liars often deny the truth when they are found-out or questioned.
What they (BUSH & BLAIR & CO) tried to do is to divert attention of the validity of the memo and further divert the direction of the specific questions that are in many reasonable peoples mind regarding the core of the issue and instead they cleverly discussed their stance on the justification for the WAR (false or not).
The memo implied that they intended and decided to go to war before the blessings of the people and the congress. The memo also implied that the intelligence were being fixed so to use it to pursuade the congress for their support and their votes. No question about it that they console with eachother and used "fixed" documents to cleverly pursuaded the public that the WAR was justified. Through false intelligence.
The DS Memo implied falsification of documents were employed to bring justice for going to WAR. The other important question is was the decision to go to WAR (written in a document or not based on available documents if any, were being compiled and if not...to fix it so it does and to publicly stage what ever necessary manipulation to pursuade the world that the WAR was justified ) and the effort were being made to make it (the Iraq War) legal....and that the decision to do so were already determined before U.S. congress and the world?
The question was not answered in context but their actions left much of us to be reasonably sketic. They have ducked the question cleverly (much like a politician who has been caught) and it is not to anyones surprise... after all they are masters of deceit. What we are seeing is a cover-up too big to manage .... a botsy twins who are determine to hide the truth.

Was that before or after John Bolton had the UN investigator fired because he wanted to inspect. Which would have done away with the chemical weapons excuse.

I said , did Bush and Blair go to the UN before or after John Bolton had the UN inspector fired for wanting to inspect.

This part I think is most interesting....Bush stated this before his denial....
"I — you know, I read kind of the characterizations of the memo, particularly when they dropped it out in the middle of his race. I’m not sure who "they dropped it out" is, but — I’m not suggesting that you all dropped it out there. (Laughter.) "
It seems that Bush has been well aware of the memo since it was leaked before the election in the UK.
Apparently he was just being rude in not answering the letter from congress.
Most likely the US media has known about the memo since the UK election, yet it has taken well over a month to finally ask a question.
It is laughable that either Bush or the corporate media think they have any crediblity left. People have a ’radar for the truth’(to quote John Edwards) and it has brought them to the internet where the truth is now spreading like wildfire, so much so that the elites have lost control. Not only were they unable to control this information, they have been completely exposed in their attempt.
THANK GOD for the Internet!

I’ve read them - and didn’t see anything I didn’t know - nor did I see anything "Explosive" - come on people, get real and wake up! - "Fixed" and "Fixed around" ... Wow! If ever the need and desire to redefine the English language till it fits one’s own preconceptions!
I can go to 20 different web sites and find 20 different histronic reasons to impeach Bush - and now 21 - yeah yeah that will work that’s the ticket!
Bush and Blair essentially blow it off - and why wouldn’t they - Ah Ha that’s the proof! This approach wouldn’t even get thru the door at small claims court!
let’s see - typed copies from an unknown sourse (trust us) - originals destroyed - any means of validation not available (trust us) - oh I forgot - the proof! Bush and Blair don’t take it serious or righteously deny it! - well then - it must be true??? right - oh brother!
And when 21 goes nowhere - ah - that vast right-wing conspiresy! Poor Kerry - opened his mouth in Britain and now - where is he? - oh! Soon he too will be a member of that vast rightwing whatever ...
Oh - I deliberating mis-spelled several words as proof of that con whatever - everybody know Karl Rove can’t spell. Plus you can use it as a key element in negative responses to discredit - I’m a generous Christian.
