51% Is Not A Mandate Especially When All The Votes Were Not Counted Rep. John Conyers, Jr. May 05, 2005 The mainstream media seems to be waking up to the idea that all of the post-election talk about a mandate was just that: talk. Under the understated headline, "Doubts About Mandate for Bush, GOP," the Washington Post reports that the President’s poll numbers are plummeting, his social security privatization plan and cuts are unpopular, and Congressional Republicans are abusing their (…)

Voting fraud exposed in Bethnal Green and Bow, UK
5 May 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
5 commentsGeorge Galloway, the Respect candidate in Bethnal Green and Bow, today called for a police inquiry into ballot fraud and ghost voting which the party has uncovered. He called it "a brazen conspiracy to steal the election".
He also slated Toward Hamlets Council’s electoral office for publishing an electoral roll which he said was "so shot through with errors and anomalies, deliberate or not, as to be almost meaningless". In particular he instanced more than 200 votes registered at an (…) -
Father of slain soldier plots UK “regime change”
5 May 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsSEDGEFIELD, England - Polls say Tony Blair’s Labour Party is on course to win Thursday’s election, but the father of a British soldier killed in Iraq is convinced he can bring about “regime change” in the Prime Minister’s back yard.
Reg Keys, whose son died at the hands of a mob in June 2003, is standing against Blair in his Sedgefield constituency in northeast England, arguing his son had died in an illegal war and that the premier had lied over the reasons for it.
The odds are heavily (…) -

Our story on secret US plans for Iraq’s oil for BBC and Harper’s Magazine has already generated two threats of lawsuits from the oil industry. Our revelations on the (…) -
These are Blair’s last days

9 commentsIraq is our greatest foreign policy calamity in modern history and the reckoning has only just begun
George Galloway Tuesday May 3, 2005 The Guardian UK
When I first called the prime minister a liar on air over his repeatedly denied plans to invade Iraq - in the wake of the Texas meeting with George Bush in spring 2002 - the BBC presenter was aghast at my presumption. Today there can scarcely be a sentient being in the land who would disagree.
If Tony Blair had been told a couple of (…) -

UK Election - does anybody care?
1 May 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
15 commentsI haven’t looked at this site for a while, and..... I’m in shock. Plenty of continuing griping analysis (????) of the election of Bush 2.2, but no mention AT ALL of the British General Election, in which there is a chance to send a clear message to Tony Blair that we weren’t happy with what he did in Iraq (and plenty of things within the country). This seems to indicate two things:
1. The sad apathy of British electors, the youth in particular (nothing new there)
2. A complete (and (…) -
How Blackwell and Petro Saved Bush’s Brain: And the rise of the right wing juggernaut in Ohio
29 April 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
The hotly disputed results of the 2004 presidential election have become entangled in a fundamentalist crusade over who will control Ohio. Extremist right wing screachers such as Pastor Rod Parsley of the World Harvest Church, Ann Coulter, Alan Keyes, Ohio gubernatorial candidate J. Kenneth Blackwell and followers of Jerry Falwell, have taken center pulpit in an escalated war over what really happened when George W. Bush was allegedly re-elected in November, 2004, and who will occupy the (…)

My Election 2004 Bad Dream
27 April 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
5 commentsOn a recent flight to Nashville, I sat next to a man who asked what I was writing. Preparing a talk, I told him, for a conference of people sharing evidence that the 2004 presidential election was stolen. Without missing a beat, he asked. "Isn’t that next door to the convention on UFO sightings?"
I wasn’t surprised. We’ve been painted as conspiracy theorists and worse by Democrats and Republicans alike, and even the liberal arm of the press has steered clear of this issue. But when I (…)
