The neocon goons have been thouroughly exposed as liars and brigands of the highest order........ There were no intelligence failures’........... They lied US troops into a vipers nest under false pretence........... They deployed a modern day SS to gather up young men off the streets of Iraq , submitting them to torture - a gross violation of human rights and international law......... Other Arab men around the world are being summarily kidnapped and sent to CIA built gulags - courtesy (…)

WHY GEORGE CAN’T FIRE DONALD

2 commentsWhy George Can’t Fire Donald
By Peter Fredson
April 24, 2006
People have wondered why Bush will not fire his Pentagon friend, Donald Rumsfeld. Some ascribe it to loyalty, to stubbornness, or to his absolutist mentality. Some believe that Rumsfeld knows where too many bodies are buried, and that firing him might force some leakage to occur. He was with Bush during his campaigns and knows what promises were made, to whom, and what inducements were offered.
If ever a Deep Throat could (…) -
State of Illinois to Introduce Articles of Impeachment in US House of Representatives
24 April 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
4 commentsThe Illinois General Assembly is about to rock the nation. Members of state legislatures are normally not considered as having the ability to decide issues with a massive impact to the nation as a whole. Representative Karen A. Yarbrough of Illinois’ 7th District is about to shatter that perception forever. Representative Yarbrough stumbled on a little known and never utlitized rule of the US House of Representatives, Section 603 of Jefferson’s Manual of the Rules of the United States House (…)

THE US NOW PLANNING A FOURTH ATTEMPT TO OUST HUGO CHAVEZ

This essay has a duel purpose. I began it initially to explain how sophisticated and effective the dominant corporate media is in programming the public mind to believe whatever message they deliver regardless of whether it’s true which it rarely is. I chose the title Reeducation 101 - Defogging and Reversing the Corporate Media’s Programming of the Public Mind which I’m now using as the heading of my introductory section. Along with that discussion, I then planned a (…) -
Nepal’s King gives up power but fails to end crisis

Concessions unlikely to halt rebellion in Nepal
Demonstrators demand abolition of monarchy
Randeep Ramesh in Kathmandu
Nepal’s King Gyanendra vowed to give up power but not the throne yesterday in a last-ditch attempt to placate protesters and win over political parties who want to end the 237-year-old rule of the Shah dynasty.
A pale-looking monarch took to the airwaves last night to announce he would give up the absolute powers he seized 14 months ago and accept a government formed (…) -
POLITICS-US: Iran Crisis, Deja Vu All Over Again?
23 April 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
Analysis by Bill Berkowitz
OAKLAND, California, Apr 18 (IPS) - The drumbeat in some Washington foreign policy circles for "regime change" in Iran has striking similarities to the run-up to the Iraq invasion, and is being led by some of the usual suspects — like the American Enterprise Institute’s Michael Ledeen.
Though not well-known outside of Washington, Ledeen’s "views virtually define the stark departure from American foreign policy philosophy that existed before the tragedy of Sep. (…) -
’New Orleans is our Gettysburg’

1 commentA Generation’s Defining Event
By BC Publishers Glen Ford and Peter Gamble
This Saturday’s elections in New Orleans represent yet another element of the vast crime committed against Black America. With as many as 300,000 residents, overwhelmingly African American, strewn about the country in government- engineered exile, the elections are an insult to the very idea of democracy, and to the dignity of all Black people.
This farcical exercise in faux democracy will no doubt be followed (…) -
Lawyer: Rice Allegedly Leaked Defense Info
23 April 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentBy MATTHEW BARAKAT
ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice leaked national defense information to a pro-Israel lobbyist in the same manner that landed a lower-level Pentagon official a 12-year prison sentence, the lobbyist’s lawyer said Friday.
Prosecutors disputed the claim.
The allegations against Rice came as a federal judge granted a defense request to issue subpoenas sought by the defense for Rice and three other government officials in the trial of Steven Rosen and (…) -
US state terrorism & Bush victims include 60,000 post-2001 AMERICAN opioid drug deaths
23 April 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
US state terrorism is only possible because of lying by omission by unethical Anglo-American media and politicians.
IGNORING mass mortality simply ensures its continuance and also constitutes utterly repugnant holocaust denial - but that is exactly what Anglo-American Mainstream Media are doing in relation to the Iraqi, Afghan and domestic AMERICAN victims of the Bush Wars.
US Mainstream Media utterly ignore 2.3 million post-invasion Iraqi and Afghan avoidable (excess) deaths - and (…) -
Come November: A Republican Hat Trick..or Musical Chairs?
22 April 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
Given the expectations for this coming November Mid-Term election....Iraq worse, gas prices higher, Bush poll numbers still in sub strata range....can the Republicans, with a wealth of sneaky and even illegal tactics, hold onto their seats? Here’s what they could...what they might very well do, in all or in part,to aid their numbers and hold their offices.
Just prior to the elections, bring back 10 or 15 thousand troops from Iraq, or at least move them down to Kuwait as Murtha has (…)
