’Cowboy’ Bush failed in Katrina evacuation, says Chavez
3 September 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
CARACAS, Venezuela (Reuters) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, a vocal critic of the U.S. government, on Wednesday called President Bush a "cowboy" who had failed to manage the Hurricane Katrina disaster and evacuate victims.
"That government had no evacuation plan, it is incredible, the first power in the world that is so involved in Iraq ... and left its own population adrift," Chavez said in a cabinet meeting broadcast live on television.
His remarks came as U.S. authorities (…) -
At Least One Bush Helped Hurricane Surviviors
3 September 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
The Chicago Tribune reported in section 1 on page 5 Friday that 14 members of the Waveland, Miss. Police Department survived the hurricane surge waters by clinging to an eight foot tall bush in the yard for dear life. They plan to transplant it to a memorial site when the new police station is built. Somehow, I doubt they will be singing "Hail To The Chief" in remembrance.

New Orleans descended into anarchy Thursday, as corpses lay abandoned in street medians, fights and fires broke out and storm survivors battled for seats on the buses that would carry them away from the chaos. The tired and hungry seethed, saying they had been forsaken.
"I’m not sure I’m going to get out of here alive," said Canadian tourist Larry Mitzel, who handed a reporter his business card in case he goes missing. "I’m scared of riots. I’m scared of the locals. We (…) -
Global Warming and Widespread Blackouts Are Just as Deadly as Terrorism

Two years ago this month, a Blackout plunged 50 million people in Northeastern U.S. and the Canadian province of Ontario into total darkness for more than a day, wreaking havoc on the U.S. economy. Now, it’s the devastation in Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi wrought by Hurricane Katrina that has killed hundreds, perhaps thousands of people.
The common thread in both disasters is that energy and environmental experts sounded early alarms about the potential for (…) -

To My Fellow Americans,
It is especially important in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to remind the American people that while this absentee government approved of the war in Iraq and spent billions doing so, these funds could have been better used to clean up after such catastrophes.
As corporations who run our government made out like bandits where our government gave them billions and with the tax breaks to those who do not need it, this is our time to fight (…) -
Buchanan’s Subtle Hint at Impeachment
1 September 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
–
Near the end of his August 29 editorial, entitled "A national emergency" on the failure of the Bush administration to halt illegal immigration, conservative columnist Patrick Buchanan suggested, "Some courageous Republican, to get the attention of this White House, should drop into the hopper a bill of impeachment, charging George W. Bush with a conscious refusal to uphold his oath and defend the states of the Union against ’invasion’."
Buchanan, at one time a presidential speech (…) -
Impeach Bush

5 commentsImpeach Bush Joseph Farah August 31, 2005 Pat Buchanan, former communications director to President Ronald Reagan, former presidential candidate and WND commentator, has come to the conclusion that a courageous Republican legislator should move a bill for impeachment of President Bush.
I reluctantly agree - and for the same reasons.
President Bush has had nearly five years in office to honor his oath of office and enforce immigration laws in this country.
He has not only failed, he (…)
