From corporate media today:
"The attack in London was an attack on the civilized world, and the civilized world is united in its resolve: We will not yield, we will defend our freedom," Bush said.
"In this difficult hour, the people of Great Britain can know the American people stand with you," he said. "And just as America and Great Britain stood together to defeat the totalitarian ideologies of the 20th Century, we now stand together against the murderous ideologies of the 21st (…)

Proposal: Reward for "Information leading to the Arrest and Conviction of George W Bush and Others"
11 July 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
Benjamin Franklin said “The only two things in life that are certain are death and taxes.” There is a third certainty for the American people that is sure as the sun rising or any law of nature. In the future any day that the war and occupation of Iraq continues you can say with certainty “It only gets worse from here.” There is no getting around the basic fact. The Iraq War was plotted and hatched with lies and deceptions, so it is evil in nature. As long as Americans go along with the war (…)

Let me try to sort-out Americans. They are said to be divided beyond reconciliation. Evidently many people believe that George W. Bush is a hero, an “evil-smasher”, a fighter for democracy and civil rights, an all-around Good Guy, chosen by God Himself. Others believe he is a smirking, swaggering, petulant, irresponsible, impulsive, impatient and aggressive bully who is a front for the many Neoconservatives and True Believer (…) -
Italy sets date to pull troops out of Iraq. Speculation over terror fears as 300 to leave in September

Italy’s prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi, yesterday confirmed that he would start pulling his country’s troops out of Iraq within two months.
Speaking at the G8 Gleneagles summit, Mr Berlusconi said the withdrawal of the first of Italy’s 3,000 troops would start in September.
"We will begin withdrawing 300 men in September," he said, adding that the decision would depend on the security situation on the ground.
He said he had discussed the plan with allies and (…) -

After watching George Bush for the past 5 years, I concluded that he suffers from some form of mental illness. I am not a psychologist, psychiatrist nor medical specialist, but I believe that G.W. suffers from some form of bipolar disorder.
This disorder is manifested by alternating periods of intense emotional activity and periods of depression.
For the past few months G.W. has publicly shown euphoria in which he attempts to (…) -
Now is the time for impeachment hearings. The tyranny must be stopped.

1 commentAfter the 2000 election I rationalized that Republicans were just dumb ideologues, blinded by religious intolerance.
But recently, with their increasingly successful attacks on public radio, universities, Social Security, the judiciary, environmentalists and any dissenting voice, I can only conclude that the Republican power-brokers know exactly what they are doing and are carrying out their clever plan in a very organized way. It is McCarthyism redux.
Democrats are accused of not having (…) -
Bring Bush in line
9 July 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentTwo years ago George W. Bush, standing under a "Mission Accomplished" banner aboard the aircraft carrier, the USS Lincoln, proclaimed the end of major combat operations in Iraq. Strange isn’t it that two years later June 23, 2005, Bush when questioned about troop withdrawal from Iraq stated: "Whenever our mission is accomplished." Just what is Bush’s mission in Iraq? Is it to drive the price of a barrel of crude oil to $100 or more; to alienate all nations of the world against us; or create (…)

IS BUSH A MANIAC

By Peter Fredson
Rewritten July 8, 2005
Why does Bush swagger, prance, smirk, gesticulate, glad-hand, grin, and act as if he just swallowed a handful of uppers? He does this even though each speech is basically the same as the one before: staying the course, insurgents hate us, our troops are really brave, we mustn’t criticize or troops will get killed, and not setting any exit strategy so as not to give comfort to an enemy. There seems to be no reason for euphoria. (…) -
I never thought I’d miss Nixon

It’s starting to get hot in Tucson, Arizona. Really hot. This July, it’s the political climate that is starting to sizzle, and it’s starting to be very apparent here in Arizona, the armpit of the Red States. Republicans and Democrats alike seem to be fed up with the lies that have been told to us by the current administration. Lies about the US winning the war in Iraq, lies about the number of war dead, lies about the number of soldiers critically wounded and maimed for life, lies about (…)
