Bin Laden has called for a Holy War against black orphans and widows of Darfur Sudan. When he recently made a world wide plea to fight the UN security force who’s main job is to provide food to these starving women and children. Is that a leader of Islam? Is that really a fight against Iperalism. How does that really further his original stated objective. Maybe its the easiest target available. Or he is living there now and needs protection.

US Bases in Iraq: Part I: Baghdad
23 April 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
by Sarah Meyer
The deliberate obfuscation of permanent bases in Iraq by the US and UK governments illustrates the myth of "freedom of information." Many of the US bases in Iraq already have, or are now building, facilities which will keep the US government - if not the Iraqi people - happy for the foreseeable future.
US Bases in Iraq will be a researched study of the possible ‘permanent’ bases1 which have been mentioned in various articles over the last three years. All bases had/have US (…) -

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Mikhail Kalashnikov, designer of the world’s most popular assault rifle, says that U.S. soldiers in Iraq are using his invention in preference to their own weapons, proving that his gun is still the best.
"Even after lying in a swamp you can pick up this rifle, aim it and shoot. That’s the best job description there is for a gun. Real soldiers know that and understand it," the 86-year-old gunmaker told a weekend news conference in Moscow.

2 commentsThe ebullient warmonger , Thomas L. Friedman of the New York Times, wants war with Iran.......... The Iranians are in his estimate a group of sullen dullards unable to `screw on a light bulb ’- yet simultaneously vicious and cunning enough to construct a nuclear bomb - despite the ubiquitous presence of UN inspectors that the zionist warmonger convienently pretends do not exist....... He has to pretend they do not exist because Zionist Warmonger Thomas L. Friedman knows that these UN (…)

1 commentWar costs approach $10 billion a month
by Jonathan Weisman
Washington — Annual war expenditures in Iraq will almost certainly come close to doubling since the U.S. invasion, as the military confronts the rapidly escalating cost of repairing, rebuilding and replacing equipment chewed up by three years of combat.
The cost of the war in U.S. fatalities has declined this year, but the cost in treasure continues to rise — from $48 billion in 2003 to $59 billion in 2004 to $81 billion in (…) -

Randeep Ramesh in Kathmandu
Nepal’s King Gyanendra vowed to give up power but not the throne yesterday in a last-ditch attempt to placate protesters and win over political parties who want to end the 237-year-old rule of the Shah dynasty.
A pale-looking monarch took to the airwaves last night to announce he would give up the absolute powers he seized 14 months ago and accept a government formed (…) -
POLITICS-US: Iran Crisis, Deja Vu All Over Again?
23 April 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
Analysis by Bill Berkowitz
OAKLAND, California, Apr 18 (IPS) - The drumbeat in some Washington foreign policy circles for "regime change" in Iran has striking similarities to the run-up to the Iraq invasion, and is being led by some of the usual suspects — like the American Enterprise Institute’s Michael Ledeen.
Though not well-known outside of Washington, Ledeen’s "views virtually define the stark departure from American foreign policy philosophy that existed before the tragedy of Sep. (…) -
Lawyer: Rice Allegedly Leaked Defense Info
23 April 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentBy MATTHEW BARAKAT
ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice leaked national defense information to a pro-Israel lobbyist in the same manner that landed a lower-level Pentagon official a 12-year prison sentence, the lobbyist’s lawyer said Friday.
Prosecutors disputed the claim.
The allegations against Rice came as a federal judge granted a defense request to issue subpoenas sought by the defense for Rice and three other government officials in the trial of Steven Rosen and (…)
