WASHINGTON (AP) - Months of political haggling in Iraq that sapped the American public’s support for the war may be nearing an end, offering hope amid rising sectarian carnage.
It also leaves Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in a more visible role as the Bush administration tries to steady a country at the brink of civil war.
Iraqi Shiite politicians agreed Friday to nominate a new candidate for prime minister, replacing an incumbent who had become an obstacle in the (…)

Afghan Insurgency Said Won’t Slow
23 April 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
By PAUL GARWOOD
KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - Taliban militants and other armed anti-U.S. groups will continue their violent opposition to Afghan and American-led forces until a genuine dialogue is held to solve Afghanistan’s problems, the former hard-line regime’s ambassador to Pakistan said.
But Afghan and U.S. officials on Friday rejected the idea of dealing with extremists who have blood on their hands, stressing the military option was the only way to bring them to justice.

Congress Clueless About Iran’s Nuclear Threat
23 April 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
3 commentsWASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States doesn’t have enough good intelligence to know whether or not Iran will be capable of producing nuclear weapons in the near future, top congressional intelligence committee members said on Sunday.
Iran said earlier on Sunday it would not abandon its work on nuclear enrichment, which the United Nations has demanded it halt, and was prepared to face sanctions from abroad.
Asked on Fox News Sunday when Iran might be capable of producing nuclear (…) -
US state terrorism & Bush victims include 60,000 post-2001 AMERICAN opioid drug deaths
23 April 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
US state terrorism is only possible because of lying by omission by unethical Anglo-American media and politicians.
IGNORING mass mortality simply ensures its continuance and also constitutes utterly repugnant holocaust denial - but that is exactly what Anglo-American Mainstream Media are doing in relation to the Iraqi, Afghan and domestic AMERICAN victims of the Bush Wars.
US Mainstream Media utterly ignore 2.3 million post-invasion Iraqi and Afghan avoidable (excess) deaths - and (…) -

5 commentsBrazil follows Iran’s nuclear path, but without the fuss
Associated Press, RESENDE, April 21
As Iran faces international pressure over its nuclear programme, Brazil is quietly preparing to open its own uranium-enrichment centre, capable of producing exactly the same fuel.
Brazil, like Iran, has signed the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, and Brazil’s constitution bans the military use of nuclear energy.

Its too obvious...
The CIA/NSA aligning "armed with Nukes"-Bin Laden and al-Zawahiri, the Al-CIA-da Scapegoats with Iran, to have a justified target after another 9/11 inside job, this time nuclear and most probably in Baghdad...
1. Reason to invade Iran
2. Blaming Russia for illegal nuke trading
3. "Justified" reason to leave Iraq...

Yin and Yang, Night and Day

How very different are the Chinese and the American governments.
Each is extreme in their political philosophy.
The Chinese censor everything and watch dissidents like hawks. As a result the people are cowed and distrustful of their leaders.
The Americans, on the other hand, have "freedom", and don’t officially censor anything except intelligence matters. Instead they just thumb their noses at the people, who, as a result, are distrustful of their leadeers.
The results in the final (…) -

4 commentsYou would think from the apparently conflicting news reports that there is a deep division in the Blair cabinet as there appears to be in Washington about whether or not to conduct a military strike against Iran. In an interview last Sunday, Blair assured us that British forces would not be involved in such an attack. But questioned in parliament a few days later he gave Bush support for an attack. Giving him support, of course, is not the same thing as involving UK troops. And not involving (…)
