Spying on Journos , Nullification of Federal Laws : Bushocracy in Action

by Open-Publishing - Friday 6 January 2006

On Novembre 21 , 2005 the publisher of Capitol Hill Blue .Com , Doug Thompson, made some rather startling allegations against the emerging Bush-Cheney dictatorship. "Wiretaps , intercepts of electronic communications and daily monitoring of reporters activities are part of a programme authorised by Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, Justice Dept. sources say ". Security consultant AJ Howell turned down entreaties from the FBI to to spy on Washington-based correspondents. " In Salon .Com Sidney Blumenthal recently wrote that Bush has nullified signifigant parts of over 108 federal bills he signed into law , by drafting little known "presidential statements" In these codiciles Bush baldly claims that he will enforce only those parts of a newly minted law that he deems do not to interfere with his "inherent powers" as Commander-in Chief and executor of foreign policy and national security affairs. This should come as no surprise to those of us who have seen Dictator Bush nullify federal courts , FISA Courts , US Military courts and the Bill of Rights.
