Two years ago I was a neocon. I supported Bush’s war on Iraq and I called everyone who didn’t a liberal Kool-aid drinker. I voted for Bush in 2000 and I listened to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and just about any right-winger on the radio that I could get a four-word talking point from to use against liberals. I would say things such as "liberals won’’ defend America," "shut up and sing," "freedom is on the march," and "you’re a great American." I supported the war at first because I bought (…)

Berkeley is the only city in the United States with its own Foreign Policy
Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin survived a razor-thin vote of confidence on May 17, 2005, when the House of Commons voted 152-152 on a confidence vote which put his minority government in peril (1). It survived by a single vote when the Parliament speaker gave (…) -
Great Lies of the American free press

Is freedom of the American press a myth?In several previous PRAVDA articles, I discussed the Bush dictatorship’s prominent use of Adolph Hitler’s "great lie theory" - the political tactic where a leader fabricates "great lies," then "eternally" repeats them until a significant portion of the population comes to accept them as truth. The Bush dictatorship also discovered a residual benefit of the "great lie theory": People are often so myopic or so embarrassed by their (…) -

Now we know where they stand. The historic debate and vote on the Lynn Woolsey amendment.
On the evening of May 25, the US House of Representatives considered an amendment offered by Representative Lynn Woolsey (D-CA) calling for an exit strategy from Iraq. Amendment No. 26 simply stated:
"It is the sense of Congress that the president should -

Welcome to Washington for this extraordinary AIPAC conference. I’m told that the attendance far surpasses any other conference, and it’s always been one of the biggest gatherings that Washington hosts every year. So I congratulate you for being here in these numbers with this energy and enthusiasm.
I also thank my friend Bernice, who has served so well (…) -
AIPAC Wants You to Die in

As a primary example how AIPAC runs the foreign policy of the United States, consider Dana Milbank’s AIPAC’s Big, Bigger, Biggest Moment, published in the Washington Post. Milbank tells us: at the annual meeting of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, held in Washington recently, the pro-Israel "political action committee" (or rather a political bribery and intimidation, to say nothing of espionage, committee or more accurately racket) is "here to stay" (according (…) -
11 days left before war with Iran

Are we going to stand idly by as more sovereign countries are attacked? This farce has nothing to do with getting rid of nuclear weapons in the Middle East or else the US would shut down the billions of dollars of aid that Israel receives. Money that is funneled into its massive chemical, biological and nuclear arsenal, which is turning Israel into a dominant superpower. Their military & political might remains unchecked. They are in firm control of the world’s remaining superpower, the (…)

How much is enough America? How much is enough before we stand up collectively and say, “No more”. America has become sedated, tranquilized by a corporate media that keeps the truth from coming to light on an everyday basis. Anesthetized to the point that when the vilest acts perpetrated in the war on terror are being carried out by us, we just flip the channel to see if we can see who is left on American Idol. What has happened to our (…) -

15 commentsYou know, I hate to be accusatory, but there comes a time when you’ve got to call people out on their bogus logic. This incredible smoking gun memo just came out, now we KNOW that Bush Lied to start the war and that all the WMD threats were bogus, the neocons were ’fixing the facts’ to sell it to the gullible American public. Why aren’t all honest members of Congress raising hell? Troops are still dying everyday- dying so Bush the Liar can save face- we need to stop this NOW. Immediate (…)

American Reporter Needs Help Understanding Why The World Hates Bush
27 May 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
87 commentsLast week, I spent a few days in London giving a series of lectures on American foreign policy.
My audiences were American and generally supportive of what the Bush administration is doing in fighting terror and spreading freedom.
The Europeans, on the other hand, were a different story. The British media were full of stories pounding the president and his policies. Since I couldn’t get MSNBC in London, I was stuck watching the BBC, with its nightly onslaught against the U.S.
The day I (…)
