"I believe I served my country honorably," says Specialist E-4 David W. Qualls:
"Even though I did not expect to be rotated to Iraq, I did my time and served to the best of my ability. And I was proud to serve. But the Army made an agreement with me and I expected them to honor it. Iraq is a very dangerous place and I have a family to support. I did what I said I would; it’s only fair that the Army do the same."
Qualls and seven unidentified plaintiffs have filed a (…)

Why history demands an Ohio revote
10 December 2004 par (Open-Publishing)
4 commentsOpponents of a recount and revote in Ohio say the first won’t change the election’s outcome and the second is unwarranted. But history demands them both.
Lets deal with the recount first. Various Republican minions complain that a full recount of the Ohio vote will cost upwards of $1.5 million and won’t shift the state from George W. Bush to John Kerry.
But that money represents less than 0.1% of the $200 billion minimum figure the Bush Administration will spend to "bring democracy to (…) -

Each and every member of the community of nations under the United Nations Charter, Article 51, has an undisputed right to self-defense. That right is express. Any nation may claim it. As a matter of record, (…) -

WASHINGTON — The manufacturer of Humvees for the U.S. military and the company that adds armor to the utility vehicles are not running near production capacity and are making all that the Pentagon has requested, spokesmen for both companies said.

Election fraud or just suspicions?
10 December 2004 par (Open-Publishing)
6 commentsIf the United States were a Third World country, our Nov. 2 election would not pass certification by international monitors. As former President Carter has explained on National Public Radio, we lack a central, nonpartisan election commission to guarantee fair and equal treatment of all voters nationwide, our candidates do not receive free and equal access to the media to deliver their message, voting procedures are not uniform throughout the county, and there is not a "paper trail" (…)

We need Congress to go to Ohio Now
10 December 2004 par (Open-Publishing)
4 commentsWe must not adjust to tyranny and gloat that imperfection in voting irregularities and suppression tactics are reasonable expectations. They are not. Too many world changing events have hinged on one vote for us to be cavalier when thousands are systematically disenfranchised.
I am here today to make a moral appeal for a thorough investigation - including forensic computer analysis of the machines - in Ohio.

16 commentsBy Mark Benjamin
Washington, DC, U.S. veterans from the war in Iraq are beginning to show up at homeless shelters around the country, and advocates fear they are the leading edge of a new generation of homeless vets not seen since the Vietnam era.
"When we already have people from Iraq on the streets, my God," said Linda Boone, executive director of the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans. "I have talked to enough (shelters) to know we are getting them. It is happening and this (…) -

NEW DELHI, India - Under fire from troops who complain they are being sent to war in Iraq with inadequate gear, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld promised Thursday that more would be done to protect forces.
Responding to criticism from troops a day earlier, Rumsfeld also said steps were being taken to deal with explosive devices, a lead cause of death among U.S. forces in Iraq, where more than 1,000 soldiers have been killed in action.

Weapons of Mass Deception The Film that the Major Media Companies DO NOT want you to see
There were two wars going on in Iraq - one was fought with armies of soldiers, bombs and a fearsome military force. The other was fought alongside it with cameras, satellites, armies of journalists and propaganda techniques. One war was rationalized as an effort to find and disarm WMDs - Weapons of Mass Destruction; the other was carried out by even more powerful WMDs, Weapons of Mass Deception.
