AVIANO, Italy — The mayors of two towns in Italy with U.S. bases thought to house nuclear missiles have signed onto a petition calling for a global end to such weapons by 2020.
Stefano Del Cont, mayor of Aviano since June, said he and Anna Giulia Guarneri, the mayor of Ghedi, joined hundreds of other city leaders around the globe in seeking the ban. (…) -

2 commentsWhile U.S. efforts to deploy it’s microwave Active Denial System (which transmits a searchlight sized bean of energy when makes people downrange feel like their skin is on fire) continue to be delayed, another non-lethal system, LRAD (Long Range Acoustic Device) has been quietly deployed to Iraq. And there the story gets a little strange.

Kosovo: We’re On The Brink Of A Balkans Bloodbath
by George Galloway, MP
WHILE most were asleep, we’ve walked to the brink of yet another war in the Balkans.
Kosovo is a part of Serbia. That’s a legal and political fact. It wants to break away and appears to have secured British and American agreement, but not, alas, the agreement of either Serbia, whose land it is, or Russia, which will veto any breakaway in the UN. The Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) (…) -

2 commentsAbout 60 years have passed since our Palestinian catastrophe (Nakba). Palestinian people have passed through and tasted several sufferings and calamities, and the Gaza Strip, which includes about 1.5 million people, 75% of them refugees, got a big share of this suffering.
By the start of the 2nd Intifada in 2000, Israeli Occupation violated all the taboos international conventions and has tortured Palestinians severely.
In the meantime, the harsh siege imposed on the Gaza Strip has been (…) -
FALSE FLAG TERRORISM TO BE BLAMED ON IRAN By Prof. PETER DALE SCOTT
13 December 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentAt the Vancouver 9/11 Truth Conference June 22-24, 07, P.D.Scott (UC Berkeley, emeritus), said neo-con isolation and desperation may paradoxically increase the possibility of a domestic false flag terror attack on the U.S., to be staged in order to provide a last-ditch pretext to attack Iran. Prof. Scott cites Bilderberger Brzezinski’s Feb. 07 "deepening quagmire" warning to Congress of "...a terrorist act in the US blamed on Iran, culminating in a ’defensive’ US military action against Iran (…)

THE ANNAPOLIS CONFERENCE: DEAD MAN WALKING
John Chuckman
The Annapolis Conference was, like so many political and diplomatic events of our time, highly choreographed, finely stage-managed, and heavily marketed. Yet, as soon as it was over, it was apparent little had happened, much as when a child opens a much-advertised, expensive plastic toy on Christmas, a brief, glitzy, big-eyed moment followed quickly by tedium. You might compare it to a George Bush press (…) -

PARIS – President Nicolas Sarkozy wants to regroup France’s different military commands into one new headquarters on the edge of Paris, a ministry official said on Monday.
The commands of the navy, the army, and the overall military command, will move in 2012 to one building in southwest Paris next to the existing air force command, the official said.
Around 10,000 people will be based at the new site in the Balard district, including the 5,000 already located in the (…) -
War with Iran Closer Then Ever: Israel and US caught between a rock and a hard place

4 commentsWhy is it that when the world should be celebrating, we are at the edge of our seats, waiting for the unimaginable to happen? Why is the United States intent on pressuring Iran towards a fatal conflict? Is it about oil, power, security, money, or nuclear energy? Or is there something more important, such as the currency in which oil in traded?
Last week, with the release of the report from the U.S. National Intelligence Estimate on Iran’s nuclear program, “16 U.S. spy agencies, including (…) -
Blackwater’s Bu$ine$$
9 December 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentIn one of the company’s most bizarre recent actions, on December 1 Blackwater paratroopers staged a dramatic aerial landing, complete with Blackwater flags and parachutes—not in Baghdad or Kabul but in San Diego at Qualcomm Stadium during the halftime show at the San Diego State/BYU football game. The location was interesting, given that Blackwater is fighting fierce local opposition to its attempt to open a new camp—Blackwater West—on 824 acres in the small rural community of Potrero, just (…)
