The long-awaited “progress report” of Gen. David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker on the status of the occupation of Iraq has been made, providing Americans, via the compliant media, with the spectacle of loyal Bush yes men offering faith-based analysis in lieu of fact-based assessment. In the days and weeks that have since passed, two things have become clear: Neither Congress nor the American people (…) -

Our currency has been inflated and we are at war. The demonization of the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, which you saw take place in New York City and on (…) -

The difference between Animals and Monsters: How the Holocaust Began
1 October 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
A few weeks ago one of my dear friends explained to me the difference between animals and monsters. He is at present in the process of writing a book about the Holocaust, and being the best read person that I personally know of regarding this matter, I knew he was speaking from a place of authority. I learned a lot from him that day.
As I listened, all I could do was nod in agreement as he explained to me some of the crimes that were allowed to be committed in the name of honor, justice, (…) -

1 commentThe most radical revolutionary will become a conservative the day after the revolution.
Hannah Arendt
For viewers eager to catch-up on rebroadcast C-SPAN2 interviews this past weekend, they had a chance to get a glimpse of the working logic of the formidable Neocon architect, Norman Podhoretz, who recently wrote "World War IV: The Long Struggle Against Islamofascism." The one-time liberal radical illustrates how, when you make a 180 degree political turn, you’ll probably remain dizzy for (…) -

Iraq study: 1,220,580 murdered since invasion Written by Opinion Business Research

Previous estimates, most noticeably the one published in the Lancet in October 2006, suggested almost half this number (654,965 deaths). These findings come from a poll (…) -

The UN General Assembly meets this week under the shadow of menacing demands by the US and its allies for tough new UN sanctions against Iran over its alleged nuclear weapons programs. The Bush administration’s “diplomacy”, in which the French government has been playing a very visible role, is aimed in the first instance at bullying Russia and China (…)
