Dear World Neighbor,
I am a US citizen asking you, Please boycott all US goods and services until the Bush/Cheney administration withdraws from Iraq and renounces its policy of military aggression against sovereign nations of its choosing. With financial bankruptcy, the US Congress and the other half of the US electorate will be more willing to, at minimum, question and possibly decrease the power of the re-elected Bush/Cheney administration.
Yes, I need you to stop (…)

Israel’s Gaza commander resigns
8 November 2004 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentThe most senior Israeli army commander in Gaza has resigned his post.
Brig Gen Shmuel Zakai is believed to have told reporters that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon ordered an operation in Gaza that the army thought unnecessary.
One report says Gen Zakai failed a polygraph test that was part of the investigation into the press leaks.
More than 100 Palestinians died in clashes after Israeli forces went into the Jabaliya camp in northern Gaza in late September for 17 days.

"Capital Guardians: Proven, Vigilant, Ready!" New Jersey School Strafed by Air National Guard F-16
8 November 2004 par (Open-Publishing)
3 commentsThe good people of Little Egg Harbor in Ocean County, New Jersey, got a taste of what it must be like living in Fallujah or Gaza City these days. The Intermediate School in the small hamlet was strafed with 20mm cannon fire from an F-16 Fighting Falcon jet on the evening of November 3, 2004. Fortunately, there were no injuries except for the pride of the pilot who had apparently inadvertently unleashed the air assault on the school.
The F-16 was attached to the 121st Fighter Squadron of (…) -
Falluja & Those Mass Graves

1 comment...Meanwhile, this week Human Rights Watch issued its long-awaited conclusive report on Saddam’s genocidal record. As far as I know, the major news media has not picked up the report, which is available on the internet at HRW’s website, http://www.hrw.org/reports/2004/iraq1104/1.htm
I read about the report in the British press. It turns out that in 19 months HRW’s experts have not been able to find the missing 100,000 bodies it said were of Kurds who had been rounded up and trucked south (…) -
Republicans, ever wonder why half the country vehemently disagrees with you?
6 November 2004 par (Open-Publishing)
16 commentsIt’s not about caving in to terrorists, it’s not about wanting a lack of morality, and it’s not about hating Republican voters. It is about wanting the freedom of choice as individuals over our lives that a democracy is supposed to allow. It’s about not shipping jobs overseas and destroying the economic foundations of the middle class and impoverishing millions of Americans.
It’s about having every citizen’s vote count and be counted fairly. It’s about killing people in defense only. It’s (…) -

Fading Arafat fights to keep hold of $1billion war chest Uzi Mahnaimi, Ramallah and Matthew Campbell, Paris
IN THE END it came down to money. While fighting for his life in a French military hospital, Yasser Arafat, the Palestinian leader, was engaged in another, secret battle last week as he tried to keep control of bank accounts that are central to his survival in power.
Arafat’s godfather-like sway over his people derives less these days from his (…) -
World Wide Petition against the Escalation in Iraq: An initiative of the BRussells tribunal endorsed
5 November 2004 par (Open-Publishing)
27 commentsProf. Jean Bricmont, a Belgian scientist, specialist in theoretical physics, and author on politics, who was member of the prosecution at the BRussells Tribunal, has written a short but strong statement "Stop the escalation" (see the text after this message, in English, French and Dutch). It has been signed already by several distinguished people (see underneath).
We feel that we can’t wait any longer to do something. We hope that you and/or your organisation will sign this letter, giving (…) -

11/04/04 "ICH" — The childish charade of this so-called ‘free’ election in the US has finally come to an end. This ‘free’ election was in fact not ‘free’ at all, when you consider that it offered a limited ‘choice’ of only two candidates. This fact alone shows that the US is already very close to a (…) -
Palestine: the assault on health and other war crimes

Does the death of an Arab weigh the same as that of a US or Israeli citizen? The Israeli army, with utter impunity, has killed more unarmed Palestinian civilians since September 2000 than the number of people who died on September 11, 2001. In conducting 238 extrajudicial executions the army has also killed 186 bystanders (including 26 women and 39 children). Two thirds of the 621 children (two thirds under 15 years) killed at checkpoints, in the street, on the way to (…) -

The great open secret of American political stability is the way the two-party system works to insulate the ruling class from the consequences of its disastrous policies. When one party dedicated to carrying out the big business and imperial agenda falls out of favor with the voters, there’s always the other one, waiting in the wings with predictable policies, ready to take over. In this way, American voters get to "throw the bums out," while at the same time replacing them (…)
