Locals Protest Vulture Capitalists and the Iraqi War
3 April 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
“It is the common people, who must, under God, save us.” - Sam Adams, patriot and rebel against British rule in America. (1)
Baltimore, MD - The goldfish in our pond had a pretty rough time this winter. The great blue heron, a majestic bird, which is usually found on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay, was eating them for dessert. I would chase the herons away, whenever I could, but they kept coming back, and back, until they got them all, except a few too small to bother with. If you’re the (…) -
2 BIG QUESTIONS Nobody’s asking
3 April 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentONE: One day, perhaps YEARS from now, after the US occupation forces, tails between their legs and faces shadowed with humiliation, head down the long and dangerous road to Kuwait and then come home to waiting families, Iraq is going to somehow manage a viable government (just as did the Vietnamese). They WILL create a functional country, alive with commerce and with some plan which recognizes the various sectarian difficulties and gets a handle on them. Perhaps...nay, almost CERTAINLY, at (…)

* Le Moyne College/Zogby Poll shows just one in five troops want to heed Bush call to stay “as long as they are needed” * While 58% say mission is clear, 42% say U.S. role is hazy * Plurality believes Iraqi insurgents are mostly homegrown * Almost 90% think war is retaliation for Saddam’s role in 9/11, most don’t blame (…) -

2 April 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
The United States will be ready to launch a missile attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities as soon as early this month, perhaps "from 4 a.m. until 4 p.m. on April 6," according to reports in the Russian media on Saturday.
According to Russian intelligence sources, the reports said, the US has devised a plan to attack several targets in Iran, and an assault could be carried out by launching missiles from fighter jets and warships stationed in the Persian Gulf.

Raining On The ABM Parade
2 April 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
If you thought the United States had a secure, state-of-the-art ballistic missile defense shield deployed around Fort Greely, Alaska, that could have shot down any North Korean ICBM during the crisis last July, think again.
Pyongyang’s attempt to test fire an ambitious Taepodong-2 intercontinental ballistic missile failed and the ambitious giant rocket exploded not long after take-off. But at least it got off the ground. The much-vaunted Ground-based Midcourse Interceptors, or GBIs, around (…) -

The Racist War on Immigrants
31 March 2007 par (Open-Publishing)
by Stephen Lendman
Emma Lazarus’ memorable words on Lady Liberty’s pedestal once had meaning as a new nation grew. No longer in a country hostile to the tired, the poor, the huddled masses, the wretched refuse, the homeless and many others not making the grade in a white supremacist Judeo-Christian state worshiping wealth and privilege. No welcome sign is out for the unwanted poor and desperate. At best, they’re ignored to subsist on their own. At worst, they’re scorned and abused, (…) -
Time To Reboot

The beginning of each college semester at the University of Florida was always exciting. It brought fresh faces from new places and renewed hope for the possibility of young love. Inevitably, there would be one guy in class that instantaneously caused my eyes to pop out and my head to swivel like a bobble head doll.
What I always found interesting, however, was that the person who initially turned my head, often turned me off by the end of the year. Meanwhile, there would (…) -

"You can’t handle the truth!".....Jack Nicholson, from ’A Few Good Men"
Last week, in a TV interview, Senator Joe Lieberman (Republicrat),told of the new Iraq, and that General Abbazabba related how he regularly ventured out into the heart of Baghdad in an "UNarmored" Humvee.
