Reporters Without Borders today condemned a judge’s decision to open a judicial investigation against Roberto Ferrario, the editor of the left-wing website Bellaciao ( http://bellaciao.org ), in response to a libel suit by the Saint Nazaire-based shipyard, Chantiers de l’Atlantique, over a critical press release by the USM-CGT union that was posted on the site.
“Ferrario was not the author of the statement which Chantiers de l’Atlantique considered libellous,” the press freedom (…)

Dear Roberto,
I have read with much disgust the plight who have yourself in, with regard to comments made by you or your webpage relating to “Shipyards of St Nazaire”
I would like you to keep me fully informed of what your government or judicial system does to you about this matter. I will bring the full force of public opinion onto the French Government and Justice system if you are not able to speak your mind and (…) -

TEL AVIV - In perhaps the most effective act of nonviolent protest in the six-year Palestinian uprising, hundreds of Gazans forced Israel over the weekend to call off airstrikes on the residence of a militant leader by swarming the house as human shields.
In recent months, Israeli security forces have used telephone calls to warn Palestinian militants and others near alleged militant safe houses and weapons caches, giving them up to a half hour to evacuate. When militia (…) -

I just heard that the commitment to trial of Roberto Ferrario, as unique responsible for Bellaciao collective!!??, for the publication, as any website or blog could have done it, of a press statement from CGT related to the Shipyards of St Nazaire story, is notified by the Judge. This repressive action, obvious example of a will to control expression in the Net, is the symptom of increasing and very pernicious politic inflexibility, such as the (…) -

One year after the most important urban riots in this beginning of 21th century the French suburbs burn again.

Yesterday night, fire persists around Paris, 2 buses are burned and the fight against the police and authorities continue. Isn’t the school who are taken for target, in spite of an education system which excludes in the peripheral territories. They are (…)
