In three national elections over the past 13 months, the official count was sharply at odds with an independent national exit poll. As in the former Soviet republics of Georgia and Ukraine, U.S. exit polls projected a clear victory for the challenger. Election Challenge: Congress Exposes the Enemy Within- Themselves
7 January 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
21 commentsThe two hour Congressional ’debate’ on the Ohio election irregularities exposed how the US Congress is completely dysfunctional.
There were enough problems in Ohio and other states that many Americans know that the election was stolen, and we can prove it beyond a shadow of doubt. If Congress actually cared about our democracy, there would have been a real debate, with the presentation of all facts on both sides with the true intent to discover the truth. But Congress did not debate the (…) -

Democrats turned Congress’ quadrennial counting of electoral votes on Thursday into a battle over Election Day problems in Ohio, forcing the House and Senate to consider a challenge to the presidential count for only the second time since 1877.
President Bush’s re-election triumph over Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., was not in jeopardy. But after Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, D-Ohio, and Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., lodged a formal protest that the Ohio votes "were not, under all (…) -

WASHINGTON - Congress certified President Bush’s re-election Thursday but only after Democrats forced a challenge to the quadrennial count of electoral votes for just the second time since 1877.
Bush’s Election Day triumph over Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., was never in doubt. After a near four-hour delay to consider and reject the dispute over voting in Ohio, lawmakers in joint session affirmed Bush’s 286-251 electoral vote victory - plus a single vote that a "faithless" Kerry (…) -

WASHINGTON — The senior Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee protested President Bush’s re-election Wednesday with a new report claiming serious election irregularities and "significant disenfranchisement" of voters in Ohio.
The report by Rep. John Conyers of Michigan says Congress should challenge the Electoral College vote when it is tallied Thursday in the House of Representatives and investigate all claims of voter problems in Ohio.
"We have found numerous, (…) -

Which of you senators will stand up and defend this Ohio Electoral Vote Count tomorrow? If you are experiencing hesitancy, just imagine if the situation were reversed and you needed to sign and swear that this election was remarkable in its uneventfulness. Would you? Could you?
Please share your evidence that we all can take confidence in what did not happen in the Buckeye State? You must have something that refutes the video-taped repression, exit polling aberrations, Warren (…) -

1 commentOhio’s Republican Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell boasted of helping “deliver” Ohio for President Bush and said he was “truly pleased” to announce Bush had won Ohio even before all of the state’s votes had been counted in his own fundraising letter, RAW STORY has discovered.
The letter, which was received by a Butler County resident Dec. 31, is a plea to support Blackwell’s campaign for governor. The resident has asked to remain anonymous.
In apparent disregard for his nonpartisan (…) -

Remember Goodman, Schwerner and Cheney — and the Civil Rights Summer of 1964? How brave we all were back then as we worked hand in hand for a new world of hope and justice and harmony where "colored people" would be allowed to vote.
It’s 40 years later and "colored people" are still being systematically deprived of their right to vote — only this time on such a grand scale that it would cause even Martin Luther King’s jaw to drop.
I marched in Montgomery.
I was at (…)
