On Election Day, problems throughout Ohio were reported all day long. In the days and weeks that followed, people throughout the state continued to point to many irregularities in the presidential vote. The voting machines were susceptible to glitches, mistakes and hacking, and even the Ohio Secretary of State Blackwell (who chaired the Ohio Bush-Cheney election campaign) admitted (…) -
Democrat wins hand recount in Washington governor race
26 December 2004 par (Open-Publishing)
In what may be their last hope of reclaiming an evaporated lead in the Washington governor’s race before turning to the courts, Republicans have asked county auditors statewide to reconsider ballots that were rejected on Election Day.
With the counting and re-counting finally exhausted Thursday, Democrat Christine Gregoire emerged as the victor by a mere 130 votes. The final tally: 1,373,171 votes for Gregoire; 1,373,041 for Republican Dino Rossi.
But Republicans have vowed to leave no (…) -

I am writing to you because you have been elected to serve the people. I am one of those people, my family is one family in America. We are just a family, we care about each other, we work hard and we believe in good things. We have a modest income, not much, but enough to give us what we need. Like most American families, we struggle with the way things are these days. We try to justify that our votes have mattered, our voices are heard, our opinions count, all the (…) -

New Wheel of VOTER "Challange" IV: $.1K, Last of 2004?
NEW $100 "CHALLANGE" (Bush spelling)
Due to the popularity (Ohio fax number created below!) of the last three Wheel of VOTER Challenges 2004 — in which paper-trail voting is unanimously preferred, indisputable machine hackability, and absence of any Democrat Diebold IT personnel — we at WVC headquarters now offer the following $100 opportunity for our easiest challenge yet:
We will send a $100 cashier’s check to the first FIVE (…) -
Clear Box Voting System 1.0
22 December 2004 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsAs we all grow weary of the U.S. elections fiascoes over the last four years, courtesy of Ohio and Florida partisan Secretaries of States, I unveil your 2004 Christmas present. It is the brand new Clear Box Voting System, nice and boring (may need some egg nog): 1) Everyone gets a Voter ID number. Your social security card or your drivers license is your Voter ID card. Ok, so you already have your Voter ID card ... let’s vote.
2) It’s Election Day. You walk into a school auditorium, (…) -

WASHINGTON — December 21 — Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH) issued the following statement today on the escalating violence in Iraq:
"The brazen executions, captured on film for the world to see, shows Iraq out of control, despite Administration rhetoric. The US occupation has failed to provide security. It’s time for the Administration to be honest with the American (…)
