    I just finished my daily review of news and blogs, and paid special attention to the Dick Cheney shotgun blast incident.     Three former associates of Jack Abramoff say the now-convicted lobbyist frequently told them he had strong ties to the White House through presidential confidant Karl Rove.
    The White House said Monday night that Rove remembers meeting Abramoff at a 1990s political meeting and considered the lobbyist a "casual acquaintance" since President Bush took office in 2001.

    February 13, 2006 — Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot fellow hunter, 78-year old Austin attorney Harry Whittington, while quail hunting on the south Texas ranch of Anne Armstrong, a former U.S. ambassador to Britain and an adviser to Presidents Nixon, Reagan and Bush I.
