– What are those activists talking about? Everyone has been told what to think about September 11th, 2001. But what escaped widespread notice is that no evidence was presented to support the official story. Very short, edited clips of an airplane hitting the North Tower were played, and still are to this day. The videos of explosions or of collapsing buildings are never repeated. Emotions were intentionally whipped up to prevent discussion. Some mug shots were shown on television and that (…)

The case involves a former senior Bush regime official, Donald Evans, (formerly the commerce secretary, now in charge of the Katrina fund) and a close personal friend of Bush, Bill Saxon. After communicating with the author of this article, from Northwest Meridian today, I have an update for readers. The author of the original article wrote the following to Saxon while compiling the report, asking him some very (…) -

By Peter Fredson
February 14, 2006
I just finished my daily review of news and blogs, and paid special attention to the Dick Cheney shotgun blast incident. Actually there is a ton of news, joking, and commentary on this topic, so I will limit my comments to something I saw which may not have been reported. At least I didn’t see any comments.
Yesterday, when eating supper and watching TV, I saw a report on the Cheney shooting. On the screen appeared the (…) -

1 commentBy JOHN SOLOMON and PETE YOST
Three former associates of Jack Abramoff say the now-convicted lobbyist frequently told them he had strong ties to the White House through presidential confidant Karl Rove.
The White House said Monday night that Rove remembers meeting Abramoff at a 1990s political meeting and considered the lobbyist a "casual acquaintance" since President Bush took office in 2001.
New questions have arisen about Abramoff’s ties to the White House since a photo emerged over (…) -

2 commentsFebruary 13, 2006 — Click here to read a letter from the parents of wrongfully-convicted former NSA intern-analyst Kenneth Ford, the author of a signals intelligence report that questioned Iraqi nuclear WMD components, which ultimately brought down the wrath of the neo-con apparatus in the Bush administration.
This editor will be present at the March 1 sentencing at the US District Court in Greenbelt, Maryland in a show of support for Ken Ford and his parents. How many among the (…) -

3 commentsFebruary 13, 2006 — Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot fellow hunter, 78-year old Austin attorney Harry Whittington, while quail hunting on the south Texas ranch of Anne Armstrong, a former U.S. ambassador to Britain and an adviser to Presidents Nixon, Reagan and Bush I. The incident occurred during the late afternoon of February 11 but the news was not revealed until February 12 after being confirmed by the White House after the Corpus Christi Caller-Times reported the story. Cheney Apparently Violates Cardinal Rule of Hunting: Make Sure It’s a Safe Shot
WASHINGTON Feb 13, 2006 (AP)- Vice President Dick Cheney apparently broke the No. 1 rule of hunting: Be sure of what you’re shooting at. He also violated Texas game law by failing to buy a required hunting stamp.
Cheney wounded fellow hunter Harry Whittington in the face, neck and chest Saturday, apparently because he didn’t see Whittington approaching as he fired on a covey of quail in Texas.

RISING ABOVE PRINCIPLE

By William Fisher
Small government is one of the golden tenets of American conservatism. Small government is more efficient. The smaller the government, the more power will be returned to the people. The smaller the government, the freer our people will be of bureaucratic intrusion, regulation and control. The smaller the government, the closer lawmaking will be to the ‘will of the people’.
There is much to commend this Jeffersonian construct ? notwithstanding that it oftten chooses to (…)
