New Faces, Same Agenda - by Stephen Lendman
The political firmament shook briefly post-November 7 raising hopes change would follow the Republican’s drubbing at the polls and the Democrats regaining control of both houses of Congress for the first time since the GOP sweep in 1994. Presumed new House speaker Nancy Pelosi stopped the tremors making it clear no substantive change will be on the table when when the 110th Congress convenes on January 3. Instead, she announced to those paying (…)

My email to Tim Russert of NBC’s Meet the Press
12 November 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
4 commentsDear Mr. Russert and Producers of Meet the Press:
With John McCain and Joe Lieberman as your guests on this Sunday’s Meet the Press, you have proven just how completely out of touch you are with the American public. And, this is on the heels of a monumental repudiation of the Republican party and a nationwide victory by Democrats.
Why wasn’t Nancy Pelosi on your show? Harry Reid? Russ Feingold? John Conyers? The voters of America have spoken loud and clear. The leadership of President (…) -

It has been reported that James Carville would like to replace Howard Dean with Harold Ford Jr. to head the Democratic National Committee, in which he said "Suppose Harold Ford became chairman of the DNC? How much more money do you think we could raise? Just think of the difference it could make in one day. Now probably Harold Ford wants to stay in Tennessee. I just appointed (…) -
REPRESENT THE PEOPLE not the LOBBIST. OR GET out of OUR DEMOCRACY.
11 November 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsIf you want money. GET a JOB. The democracts and republicans should stop using US tax payer dollars to support issues that are maligned at the voting booth and spin controlled in the mind controlled media.
A notice to politicians is that if you seek to profit and do not care from whom AT least stay out of our GOVERNMENTS and WORKPLACES and BUSNIESSES. Move to another country that doesn’t care ABOUT the people.
In addition the DEMS are not pressing for impeachment because they are PART of (…) -

AS I LAY DYING
John Chuckman
Sadly, little coming from America’s politics can fire my enthusiasm. During my lifetime, America has busied itself with the task of burying liberalism, reminding one of October’s frenetic squirrels hunting and burying acorns.
The nation is pretty much at ease with ugly imperial government. Liberalism, and I mean liberalism in the broadest, richest sense of the word, is a topic of bathroom humor.
We read and hear a great deal about the (…) -

In going through all 517 photos showing the reactions to many different races either won or lost, the ones showing Senator-elect Jon Tester were the ones that especially hit home. After all it was our test to see whether or not a common man can go on to represent the people he grew up amongst. He was the ‘tester’ to see anyone of us can run and go on to win a senate seat.
We all think (…) -
US NEWS NETWORKS WRONG
8 November 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsThis is something I just noticed while visiting the CNN.com site. They show a tight race for the Senate. 49 to 49 seats. However, they show Independent chairs as 0. They are counting one independent as a Democrat. That Independent is Joe Lieberman. Who was booted from the Democratic party just a few months ago. Yes although he had been the Vice presidential candidate for Al Gore, they booted him. He had to run as an Independent. He is no longer technically a Democrat.
Very interesting. (…) -
The Democratic Victory: ‘It’s the people’s agenda, stupid’

3 commentsThe Democratic Victory: ‘It’s the people’s agenda, stupid’ By Mary MacElveen November 8, 2006
When Congresswoman, Nancy Pelosi the incoming Speaker of the House stated that impeachment was not on the table in relation to Bush, it angered most on the more liberal side of the Democratic Party including myself. Hindsight being what it is, it was smart of her to say that. In fact, if that had been our main platform, there would have been a sharp rebuke by the electorate itself. The take (…) -
