Back in the late 70’s when the Ayatollah Khomeni was the "Evil Arab tyrant" of the day, burning the American flag was like the national pastime for Iran. I say this facetiously of course, but still I do recall many images from my childhood of crowds burning American flags.
There are two major differences today.
1. It’s not just Iran that’s seething with anger, it’s the whole world. 2. Clearly they don’t hate America- they just Hate Bush
They hate Bush’s illegal war.
They hate the (…)

2 March 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
3 commentsThis is an article from the Counter Punch site. Will make you consider Diane Feinstein in a whole new light no matter which side of the aisle you are on. I am VERY much a progressive but this is ridiculous in every way you can imagine!!

It happens all the time. If the antiwar movement takes on the Democrats for their bitter shortcomings a few liberals are bound to criticize us for not hounding Bush (…) -
Most U.S. troops in Iraq support withdrawal, poll finds
2 March 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsWASHINGTON - Nearly three out of four American troops serving in Iraq think U.S. forces should withdraw within a year, and more than one in four say the United States should leave immediately, according to a new poll published Tuesday.
The poll, conducted by Zogby International and the Center for Peace and Global Studies at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, N.Y., was a rare effort to determine the views of American troops serving in a ground war.
Twenty-nine percent of the troops surveyed (…) -
Off the Radar: What we can’t afford to discuss
1 March 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
7 commentsAs time goes by, in the natural order of things, the public quickly forgets about the last big story as new ones come along. That’s just human nature.
But human nature can be irresponsible. Case in point, the violations by the U.S. of many Geneva accords.
1. When we invaded Iraq we bombed water and sewage systems, oil piplelines (albeit by mistake in that case),schools, hospitals, libraries, and electic facilities. We also bombed "accidentally" many religious institutions including (…) -

Farce : The Saddam War Crimes Trial
1 March 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsWho should really have to answer to the Bar of Justice for war crimes conducted against the people of Iraq? 1) What about Democrat Zbigniew Brezinski ? As part of his genocidal doctrine to stir up "Islamic fundamentalism" ; a catspaw to counter the "Soviet Threat" , this war criminal was not only the key architect of of the Iran-Iraq War but it’s corrrelative madness , the Arab-Afghani war against the Soviet Union. 2 ) What about Democrat Madeline Albright ? Asked if the (…)

What Both Parties in DC Refuse to Discuss
1 March 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
6 commentsThe Poet Ezra Pound once said The technique of infamy is to invent two lies, then get people arguing heatedly over which one of them is true.
This can be said of Every Issue in American Politics. The leaders put forth two acceptable ideas, and the tv propaganda dutifully repeats the fake debate 24/7 - all the while omitting the true alternative.
Iraq
Acceptable choices: Stay the course, or Redeploy
True Alternative: Bring Home the Troops
Health Care
Fake debate is about how many (…) -
Defense Budget Preparing for Nuclear Global War
1 March 2006 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentWhat is obvious in the fiscal 2007 defense budget are the drastic reductions or eliminations of 141 domestic programs in favor of nearly seven percent increase to $439 billion in defense spending. What is not obvious are the omission of the total cost of the ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the enormous potential profits to defense contractors and corporations, and the hidden reasons behind escalating research and development of “smart bombs” and nuclear weapons.
Although the defense (…)
