  And there is no peace. There is no security.
  After the Six-Day War, we could have achieved peace. We could have given back the conquered territories to the Palestinian people and enabled them to set up their state there.
  But the craving for territory made us crazy. Instead of choosing peace and security, we chose settlements.
  The occupation has exacted a terrible price from both peoples: human, social, moral, political and economic.

  As a simple person, living a simple life, in a small town, I have some simple questions to help untangle a complicated web of misdirection, misinformation, deception, propaganda, and untruths that have been spun by the disastrous Bush administration.   Nothing young Americans can do in life is more honorable than offering themselves for the defense of their nation. It requires great selflessness and sacrifice, and quite possibly the forfeiture of life itself. On Memorial Day 2005, we gather to remember all those who gave us that ultimate gift. Because they are so fresh in our minds, those who have died in Iraq make a special claim on our thoughts and our prayers.

  The American media may be too intimidated to openly challenge the Bush administration regarding the “Downing Street Memo,” but the American legislature has a constitutional obligation to investigate. These documents demonstrate President Bush’s prior knowledge and state of mind when he broke the law in fulfilling his legal obligation to Congress.
