As if Iraq isn’t a big enough mess, the House of Representatives has just voted to ’hold Iran accountable and support a transition to democracy’. Sound Familiar? Only this time Iran is a democracy. They just held an election where their president was actually elected by the people. How refreshing.
After everything that has been exposed...the lies, the profiteering, the long list of war crimes, 397 ’Representatives’ gave Bush the go ahead on attacking Iran. Only 21 (…)

SPINELESS DEMOCRATS MISS ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY

6 comments" There is almost no kind of outrage, torture, imprisonment without trial, assassination, the bombing of civilians which does not change its moral color when it is committed by ’our’ side. The nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them:" George Orwell

Continuing with quotes from President Hugo Chavez and an examination of his statements.
“He (Bush) spoke to the people of Lebanon. Many of you, he said, have seen how your homes and communities were caught in the crossfire. How cynical can you get? What a capacity to lie shamefacedly. The bombs in Beirut with millimetric precision?”
“This is crossfire? He’s thinking of a western, when people would (…) -

Bush Shields Dad On Chile Terrorism By Robert Parry September 22, 2006 Chilean investigators say the Bush administration is undercutting their case against former dictator Augusto Pinochet for his alleged role in the terrorist assassination of a political rival on the streets of Washington three decades ago, a crime that then-CIA Director George H.W. Bush appears to have tolerated and then helped cover-up. Now, George W. Bush has picked up the mantle from his father for protecting the (…)

"American forces are apparently already active inside Iran, and Naval forces have received orders to deploy to that country," Morrisseau said. "The President has NO AUTHORITY to attack the nation of Iran whatsoever, in the absence (…) -

The President of Venezuela addressed the U.N. Assembly this week. His unkind references to the President of the United States, George W. Bush, made many people uncomfortable, electing a huge variety of boorish, loutish, obscene, and uncomplimentary remarks.
I have examined the Chavez speech in detail, and find that much of what was criticized was actually warranted. If we leave out the jingoistic and (…) -

3 commentsA Courageous Man Speaks Out - Hugo Chavez Was In Rare Form at the UN - by Stephen Lendman
Hugo Chavez chooses his authors, political and social thinkers well, and there’s no one better than Noam Chomsky. In his dramatic and courageous speech yesterday to the 61st UN General Assembly, Chavez held up a copy of Chomsky’s 2003 book Hegemony or Survival (which I’ve read and quoted from before). In the book, Chomsky cites the work of Ernst Mayr whom he describes as "one of the great figures (…) -
