Joe Scarborough, political hack and host of Scarborough Country on MSNBC, went on yet another odious rant on April 3. The Congresswoman is accused of punching a Capitol Hill security officer in the chest (with cell phone in hand). After McKinney skirted a metal detector (members of Congress are not required to go through metal detectors) an officer, according to a witness, asked McKinney (…)

Author Kevin Phillips discusses the growing power that the Christian Right has over the Republican Party.
Ever since former Nixon strategist Kevin Phillips published the bestselling "The Emerging Republican Majority" in 1969, the announcement that he’s written a new book has typically been first met by political observers and the press with a kind of hushed awe, and then a mad rush to (…) -

With the Gallup Poll showing 51 percent of Americans want all U.S. troops out of Iraq by year’s end, John Kerry has made his move.
The 2004 Democratic nominee is calling for complete withdrawal of U.S. forces, if Iraqis do not agree on a unity government by May 15. Even if the Iraqis pull a government together, Kerry wants all U.S. forces removed by Dec. 31.
The ice is cracking. With half the nation backing "Bring-the-Boys-Home-by-Christmas," (…) -

The Ethnic Cleansing Party Outpaces Likud
The Rise of Israel’s Avigdor Lieberman
By SAREE MAKDISI
Everyone is talking about the successful-albeit lackluster-performance of Ehud Olmert’s Kadima party in Tuesday’s Israeli elections. Kadima won a marginal victory, gaining 28 seats in the Knesset, and giving Olmert the opportunity to form a government.
