US and British pilots whose bombs killed Iraqi civilians were murderers, and actions taken by those two countries during the invasion and occupation of Iraq amounted to terrorism, former Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad has said.
Several British and US diplomats walked out in protest of Mahathir’s broadside against their countries in a speech at a national conference in Kuala Lumpur on human rights on Friday. Mahathir, who (…)

In a way, it’s amusing.
Watching the Bush cabinet, sycophants and True Believers scurry madly to explain that Bush is not to blame for ANYTHING. It seems that the main object of the post-Katrina government effort is not to succor the victims, drain the water, or rebuild the city but to refurbish the image of immortal leader George W. Bush which has been tarnished by the fecal waters of the Gulf.
All efforts are made to (…) -

JERUSALEM, July 11— Israel’s government will request $2.2 billion from the Bush administration to help pay for its planned evacuation of the Gaza Strip and four Jewish settlements in the northern West Bank later this summer, Israeli officials said Monday.
The amount, which would be paid over three years, is equal to roughly one year’s worth of U.S. military assistance to Israel. It represents one of the largest one-time aid requests Israel has made to the (…) -

George Bush is going to go down in history as the President Who Destroyed America.
Oh sure, there were problems before he ever took office. Every nation has problems. But in the year 2000, the USA was at a fairly high point. The economy was growing. Science was moving forward. International relations were fairly good. The future looked bright. And then, an election was rigged, and a "President" who was never (…) -
Kevin Benderman : "Moral Courage"

From Sgt. Kevin Benderman "I will not compromise my integrity, nor my moral courage."
by Monica Benderman
These words come directly from the NCO creed, which I swore to uphold as a member of the US Army. When I filed for Conscientious Objector status, it was after careful consideration of my duty to my wife, my step-children, my country and the soldiers I served with. But before I could consider all of this, I had to consider myself. I had to ensure that my actions did not compromise (…) -

2 commentsThe Frankenstein Chronicles are a series of letters written by me on March 03, 2003, as letters to the editor and submitted to the Conway Daily Sun. The War started shortly after I sbmmitted them and they were not published. I am now posting them as Web Research Documents (WRD) and hope that they elicit a response, from web users, as a topic of interest deserving of further research and action.

Israel has authorized construction of 117 homes in one of the West Bank’s largest settlements and approved preliminary plans for another 3,000 housing units there, officials said Tuesday.
The decision came despite repeated U.S. appeals that Israel freeze settlement expansion and threatened to raise tensions with the United States just days before Prime Minister Ariel Sharon travels to New York to address the U.N. General Assembly. He is expected to meet with (…) -
Explosion stops oil exports
6 September 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
Oil exports from Iraq’s northern fields were completely halted on Saturday following a rebel attack on a major pipeline west of the oil centre of Kirkuk, an Iraqi oil industry official said.
"We have some interruption in the pipeline. There are no exports at all right now," the official said on condition of anonymity.
He said he had "no idea" when exports might resume since the scale of the damage had not yet been assessed.
An official in charge of oil installation protection said the (…) -
Hurricane Diary: Don’t Let New Orleans Die!

Its been a day since I evacuated from New Orleans, my home, the city I love. Today I saw Governor Blanco proudly speak of troops coming in with orders to shoot to kill. Is she trying to help New Orleans, or has she declared war?
I feel like the world isn’t seeing the truth about the city I love. People outside know about Jazz Fest and Bourbon Street and beads, and now they know about looters and armed gangs and helicopter rescue.
Whats missing is the story of a city (…) -

By Joseph R. Chenelly
Combat operations are underway on the streets “to take this city back” in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
“This place is going to look like Little Somalia,” Brig. Gen. Gary Jones, commander of the Louisiana National Guard’s Joint Task Force told Army Times Friday as hundreds of armed troops under his charge prepared to launch a massive citywide security mission from a staging area outside the Louisiana Superdome. “We’re going to go out and take this city back.
