HINESVILLE, GEORGIA, February 6, 2005—As the wife of a soldier who has sworn to "defend his country and its constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic," and as the mother of an 18 year old son who has recently had to register with Selective Service, I have thought about these comments to a great degree.
In keeping with professional and "military" bearing, I realize that I must be aware that while I do not endorse this general’s opinion, nor do I understand (…)

BAGHDAD, February 8 (IslamOnline.net) - The US occupation forces in Iraq are abusing Iraqi detainees and tearing up the Noble Qur’an, according to a message on a piece of cloth Iraqi detainees in the US-administrated Bucca detention camp in southern Iraq managed to sneak outside.
The message also presented another version of events leading up to the killing of four Iraqi detainees by US forces at the camp on the eve of January 30 controversial elections, an incident that also left six (…) -

1 commentI am an American. World War II taught the world that all individual Germans were responsible for the crimes of Hitler and his henchmen - and every individual American is responsible for the crimes of Bush and his henchmen;
therefore, I am responsible for war crimes committed by George Bush, and all of George Bush’s mobsters, regardless of my having voted against him and all Republicans and all that they represent. Since Germany refuses to accept responsibility for prosecution of American (…) -
Billions $ for WAR, Cuts for the POOR
10 February 2005 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsGEORGE W. BUSH’S budget proposal will impose deep cuts in domestic spending, while showering money on the military and homeland security.
Bush claimed that his principle in deciding on the cuts was that “a taxpayer dollar must be spent wisely, or not at all.” To judge from a budget that will reduce or eliminate funding for some 150 government programs, the administration must think that it’s “unwise” to spend anything on helping the poor or vulnerable in U.S. society.
“A cut of this (…) -

THE NEW York Times reported that the U.S. government was touting the elections as a success. “United States officials were surprised and heartened today at the size of turnout,” read the Times story, despite a “terrorist campaign to disrupt the voting.”
Those words could have come from any Times article about Iraq’s elections on January 30. In fact, they were written in 1967, after a presidential vote in South Vietnam, where the U.S. was at war against the (…) -

The Republican senators who have devoted their careers to mauling the United Nations are seldom accused of shyness. But they went strangely quiet on Thursday. Henry Hyde became Henry Jekyll. Norm Coleman’s mustard turned to honey. Convinced that the UN is a conspiracy against the sovereignty of the United States, they had (…) -

The shootings rarely make news outside the towns where they occur. The military does not make a practice of publicizing cases of "collateral damage" unless by chance reporters are embedded with units and write about the events they witness. And no one at the Pentagon nor at the U.S. Central Command keeps a comprehensive tally of the incidents, according to senior officials in both locations, who say that all operations in general are periodically (…) -

The illegal and unlawful arrest and kidnapping of all people, no matter Muslim or Christian, Hindu or Jew, is an act of inhumanity, barbaric demonstration of obscurantism and using illogical means for achieving objectives which maybe justified as right or wrong.
While we condemn all kind of kidnappings in Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries of the world, hereby we deeply and whole heartedly are concerned about the fate of the Italian journalist, (…)
