FULL AND HONEST EXPLANATIONS NEEDED
By Peter Fredson
August 2, 2005
As I reviewed events of the past five years, it struck me that many still lacked full, honest, candid and open explanations. We have had several congressional investigation committee reports, but they are strangely lacking in forthright assessments of some basic problems. We have had hundreds of daily made-to-order White House “explanations” which somehow lack the crystalline ring of truth.
We have had several Press (…)

By Dafna Linzer
A major U.S. intelligence review has projected that Iran is about a decade away from manufacturing the key ingredient for a nuclear weapon, roughly doubling the previous estimate of five years, according to government sources with firsthand knowledge of the new analysis.
The carefully hedged assessments, which represent consensus among U.S. intelligence agencies, (…) -

Iraq is George Bush’s waterloo and he is dragging all of us with him into this black hole of deceit, hubris, humiliation and heartache : Allen L Roland 7/30/05, ICH, The Muqtada al-Sadr followers say they have collected the signatures of one million Iraqis asking that U.S. and other Coalition troops leave the country immediately.
In his sermon at an East Baghdad mosque, Shaikh Abdul Zahra al-Suwaidi told the congregation, "We obtained the Iraqi (…) -

1 commentWe all know that Bush & Co Lied to start this war, that the nation would be outraged if not for the $$ media. Still, we know that nothing else matters- Bush shouldn’t be appointing judges or ambassadors, he should be in behind bars.
We need to ask each and every one of our CongressCritters why they are not outraged by the revelations of the Downing Street Memo, by the looting of our tax dollars by Halliburton- why did the House investigate steroids but ignore the $9 Billion ’lost’ by (…) -

27th June 2005, Istanbul
In February 2003, weeks before an illegal war was initiated against Iraq, millions of people protested in the streets of the world. That call went unheeded. No international institution had the courage or conscience to stand up to the threat of aggression of the US and UK governments. No one could stop them. It is two years later now. Iraq has been invaded, occupied, and devastated. The attack on Iraq is an (…) -
KARL ROVE and VARIOUS SPIES HE IS LINKED TO

Karl Rove’s only full-time foreign-policy advisor is Michael Ledeen, a rabid anti-Arab, pro-Israel activist. The FBI is investigating Ledeen for procuring forged documents (shown here) on nonexistent WMD, which George Bush used to justify his war on Iraq. When Joseph Wilson exposed the farce, Rove helped "out" Wilson’s CIA wife. Did Ledeen procure the documents for Rove, and how might he have done that? The story includes multinational stool pigeon Rocco Martino, (…) -

The Gallup Poll that was just released on July 29, shows that Bush’s approval rating now stands at 44%. According to their findings: “Four in 10 Americans are satisfied with the way things are going in the country.”
The poll also shows a “continued positive momentum for the Democratic Party in terms of national party identification and ratings” ... I just wish that the Democratic Party would spend this political capital.
Shortly after the London and Egypt attacks, (…) -
Campus Antiwar Statement on Self-Determination and Unity in the Antiwar Movement

As students organizing against the war on campuses across the United States, we stand in support of full self-determination throughout the Middle East, including the self-determination of Iraqis and of Palestinians. As our generation is asked to sacrifice our consciences and our lives for the sake of U.S. empire-building, we are committed to opposing that empire-building in its entirety.
In the Middle East today, illegal occupations exist not only in Iraq, but also in (…) -
Iraq War - Timeline on Fixed Facts Around the Policy

1 commentAt the very first National Security Council meeting of the Bush administration held on January 30, 2001, according to then Treasury Secretary Paul O’Neill:
"From the very beginning, there was a conviction, that Saddam Hussein was a bad person and that he needed to go...ten days after the inauguration."
That tone had set the new administration’s secret policy - to invade Iraq intentionally and unconditionally.
As the Bush administration embroils in scandal after scandal, it’s obvious (…) -

Historic days in Israel: a showdown between the government and the settlers. Though the sides do negotiate behind the scenes, this time it does not look like the cat-and-mouse games for the media a few years ago, Prime Minister Barak’s favorite dissimulation, when a few settlers were filmed dragged from some unmanned West Bank outpost after signing a confidential agreement with the government assuring their return once the cameras were gone. This (…)
