Ecco le immagini dell’esecuzione di Saddam diffuse dai media. L’ex rais iracheno con il cappio al collo e poi avvolto in un sudario. La prova della sua morte. È stato mostrato come un trofeo, ma non fino in fondo. Per timore o per pudore? E come avrebbe potuto? Di fronte all’orrore del mondo, l’unico leader mondiale fautore e favorevole all’impiccagione dormiva. Difficile immaginare sonni tranquilli. Possibile che Bush abbia potuto scacciare gli incubi con i suoi sogni (…) -

E’ un soldato originario del Texas e la notizia della sua morte è stata data proprio nell’ultimo giorno del 2006. Al memoriale di Santa Monica, in California, il conto dei caduti viene aggiornato ogni domenica. Gaza sta morendo. L’assedio israeliano dell’enclave palestinese è così stretto che la popolazione è sul punto di morire di fame. Qui sulle sponde del Mediterraneo una grande tragedia è in atto, ma nessuno sembra curarsene visto che l’attenzione del mondo è tutta rivolta alle guerre in Libano e in Iraq.

La crisi dell’egemonia delle forze nazionaliste e progressiste nel mondo arabo-islamico e l’emergere di forti correnti radicali fondamentaliste pone diversi problemi di analisi e di valutazione alle forze di sinistra. Apparentemente lo scontro politico, militare ed ideologico si gioca tra questi movimenti da un lato e gli Stati Uniti, sostenuti da Israele e da alcuni governi conservatori,dall’altro. Gli italiani non sanno praticamente nulla su una "missione" in Libano che li coinvolge in prima fila e che sempre più precariamente rispetto al passato può essere presentata come "di pace"... La responsabilità di un apparato, i media, di disinformazione programmata dove operano autentiche nullità.
Guardo sempre i notiziari della RAI e di RAInews24 per sapere come le cose vengono presentate all’opinione pubblica - tenendo conto che la maggior parte della gente non legge (…)
