Depuis plus de dix ans, Jean-Luc Mélenchon prône la « révolution citoyenne ». La formulation vient de Rafel Correa, élu président de l’Équateur en 2007 : durant son investiture, l’intéressé l’avait présentée comme un « changement radical » visant à tourner la page du néolibéralisme.

Après avoir rassemblé près de quatre millions de voix autour de sa candidature à la présidentielle de 2012, le leader du Front de gauche a cofondé le mouvement La France insoumise : en 2017, ce sont sept millions de Françaises et de Français qui ont voté pour celui dont le programme est, notamment, axé sur le « partage des richesses », la « planification écologique », la « sortie des traités de l’Union européenne » et la fin de la Ve République.

Dirigeant local, dans sa jeunesse, de l’Organisation communiste internationale — une formation trotskyste —, Mélenchon avait rallié le Programme commun porté par le Parti communiste et le Parti socialiste, avant de quitter ce dernier pour ressusciter ce qu’il appelait alors « l’autre gauche ».

C’est désormais « le peuple » que son mouvement entend mobiliser. Dans le cadre de ce dossier entièrement consacré aux différentes stratégies de rupture avec l’ordre dominant, nous sommes allés à sa rencontre.
